Fact is, Sanders didnāt have enough votes to win the primary. Iām not sure how he was then supposed to beat Trump.
Democratic Primary is a bit different from the general election though. The biggest question now is how many Sanders supporters are willing to āVote Blue no Matter Whoā and get behind Biden. Young people wont turn out for Biden, looking online in the left leaning spaces thereās a lot of āFuck Biden, Fuck the DNC, theyāre getting 4 more years of Trump and they deserve itā.
Agree but the fact is Sanders just didnāt have the votes across the USā¦ he was seen (rightly or wrongly) as a socialist borderline communist.
if Biden had any sense heād nominate Tulsi Gabbard as his VP - and we can only hope she has to take over sooner rather than later
Thatās how he was painted by the US media, but they also called Obama a socialist. Not many of his policies would be out of place in any Western country that isnāt the USA.
Why Gabbard?
I could see the GOP and Trump finding it far easier to paint and taint Sanders, and scare moderates and independents, than Biden.
Personally I think Warren was the best candidate but she lost the initial trust she had with moderate Dems and couldnāt regain it. Iād be happy to see her on the ticket with Biden though. Klobuchar is just a younger, female version of Biden. AOC is to inexperienced and Harris doesnāt give Biden anything he doesnāt already have. As asked above, why Gabbard?
Conveniently, or by design, Biden hasnāt really stood on any policies just yet, save for continuing Obama Care in some fashion. It gives him the chance now to shape what heāll do and how heāll do it without having to backtrack.
On the flip side, thereās little evidence black voters would have come out for Sanders and ditto moderates. Black voters are a huge part of the Democratic coalition and moderates are key in a lot of the swing states.
I like Gabbard as I am a centralist - she appears to be the one person interested in running who straddles both sides of the house (while sitting in the democratic side she has some republican tendancies which youād hope would mean she may actually be able to get things done)
I get bored of politics, here and abroad that veers from left to right the whole time but nothing really changes.
Politics hasnāt been left in forever, certainly not in the USA. Looking at someone like Joe fucking Biden as the so-called progressive should confirm as much.

Bidens VP is far more likely to come from Kamala Harris, Amy Klobuchar, Gretchen Whitmer, Stacey Abrams, Catherine Cortez Masto, Val Demmings or Tammy Baldwin. Odds seem to say Harris the big favourite, Klobuchar in second and Whitmer third. That said, Whitmerās handling of the pandemic and jibes from Trump about her means shes the most realistic long shot. The other four are more outside chances.
I donāt think Gabbard is so much of a centrist, she just has common sense and can see a good idea rather than just blindly follow sectarian lines.
Iāve been very impressed by most things Iāve heard from her.

Heās already held up stimulus cheques for citizens due to the fact that he wanted his name printed on each one. Now threatening to suspend Congress and claiming theyāre investigating China for creating Covid-19. You know that whatever happens, even if intelligence finds that itās 100% naturally occurring, Trump will do heās whole āyou never knowā spiel. Heās even suggesting that all other countries are lying about their infection/death rates.
I was watching a reporter interview someone at one of the rallies. The guy was saying that they should be able to take care of themselves while working. He knows exactly how to take care of himself, heās had a quadruple bypass and multiple strokes/heart attacks so he knows how to take care of himself. ZERO FUCKING IRONY
On one side I want to say that Americans are almost getting what they deserved by choosing a leader like him, but then you think about the actual ones with brains that are suffering just as much.
