Do you take it in turns to act as a sort of executive officer for the week, but all the decisions of that officer have to be ratified at a special bi-weekly meeting by a simple majority in the case of purely internal affairs, but by a two-thirds majority in the case of purely external affairs
I’m sure I have a lot of beliefs in common with that lot but I’m way to cynical for any of that shit I think. Plus have you ever heard anarchists and communists talk?
As always, I can’t help but think the truth lies somewhere in the middle.
I’ve long thought the APL was a giant waste of time and I also think DT should’ve been transparent about the financial issues surrounding the competition. Then maybe he could’ve brought fans onboard and thrown the GF to a transparent tender process. He still would’ve been pilloried but at least we would’ve understood what was going on.
Having said that - and I am not referring to any person on here, just comments I’ve seen - a lot of people seem to live in a fantasy land of economic unreality. I don’t agree with how DT handled the GF. but I don’t think he’s irredeemable and I think there are much bigger issues than where the GF is played… like having a solvent competition. Which many really don’t seem to care about.
Incidentally, if he really got the license fees for the two new clubs, DT has performed a minor miracle.
Remember D Shaw from SUSFC times. Decent bloke and good operator from what I recall, though I was probably barely 20 at the time so who knows what that actually means. Should provide a good voice on the group
best of luck to all. Not sure if any of the members are active on this forum - but I’ll be asking those I know about how they plan to engage feedback from the wider Sydney FC supporter fanbase to ensure it’s not simply the 8 individuals thoughts, ideas and opinions that get represented. They should be conduits for the wider fanbase - IMO
Bumping an old thread but it struck me today that I hadn’t heard anything from this in a while.
I don’t know if the lack of obvious publicity is by-design, but some minutes are online if you are curious (although the few I’ve skimmed aren’t all that interesting). The latest SFC-specific minutes that I could find on the club website are from June 2024; the APL ones are more up-to-date, with a November 2024 meeting listed, though there was supposed to be one last month too.
The representative term lengths were originally two years, which means they’ll be looking for new people in about 6 months.
