FFA Cup R32 - Sydney Olympic vs Sydney FC - 24/11/21

He’s definitely still in Sydney, he posts regularly on Instagram and hes definitely still here.

ABJ can’t play in central midfield. Way too lazy and can’t tackle.

As I was saying in the Macarthur preview, we can’t keep persisting with Caceres-Retre, either. Getting someone of Brattan’s quality in at short notice would be near impossible, so get The Hoff in there in the meantime.

I’ve voted for Bratts for POTY last 2 yrs so desperately hoping he is fine.

But… could wreck Hoff if he has to replace Bratts as a regular starter so soon after a bad injury. Caceres is creative in a different way. Burgess maybe but then its a soft midfield. Could see VDS getting a run but Retre is the obvious one.

Retre-Burgess might be worth a try, but as you say, awfully soft - potentially fatally soft.

Im 99% sure Caceres is first choice to partner Bratts. Ninko/Max LW and Kosta/Elvis RW. Then Hoff and Retre CM backup. Trent is a Bimbi favourite (and me) so I think Kosta upfront is done.

My question there would be - what does Retre/Burgess offer that Retre/Caceres doesn’t? They have the same weaknesses but Burgess is a step down on Caceres.

It’s Bratts is out it’s gasp time to change shape.

Either that or pray Cam Devlin gets awfully homesick in the next month.

Bratts out destroys us.

For better or worse its never happening under Bimbi.

We need the hoff to step in, long term use of the retre/caceres midfield we will be lucky to make the six

thought the double sub at HT of Retre and Grant made a huge difference. May have just been me but thought Retre did really well and was smarter on the ball than Bratts had been.

Yazbekistan time I think

we shouldnt need an injury replacement, players get injured and a youngster steps up.

enough vince lia or osama malik bullshit

Well, if it’s an ACL for Brattan, the idea we have an adequate replacement in the system already is preposterous. If it’s a short-term injury, different story.

ACL is worst-case, but Corica did use that term last night.

I’d have been happy for the Hof to step straight in a year ago after he’d absolutely bossed the AFC, it might be asking a bit much as he’s seemingly being eased back in now and you’d hate for the workload to lead to any setbacks. The kid is too good to take chances with.

This is going to go down brutally bad on here, but I do feel Brattan is a tad overrated. Last season he had quite a few poor games. Maybe I just have high expectations of him. I’d like to see Hof or a young player step up if it’s an ACL, fingers crossed that it isn’t of course.

What do we know about Yazbek? I like to consider myself pretty engaged and I hadn’t heard his name before yesterday.

Bratten is a first choice starter for the team. With salary caps and the such, you won’t be able to get anyone close in the team to take over for him. Unfortunately we need to look elsewhere if you want a like for like. It’s also extremely bad form to take a youth player and just throw them into the team without slowly blooding them.

nah. just play em.

workload? fuck me its the a-league
