Toll.

They organised for all my shit to get sent Darwin → Sydney. It was supposed to turn up last Monday, until I got a call the Friday before telling me the container never got on the train. Fantastic notice period, love it. Was told it’ll be here this Thursday instead. Made all my plans based on this, surely they can’t fuck it up twice in a row? Told me this arvo with ~36 hrs notice that it’s not coming til Monday now.

The air mattress that I’m sleeping on is too short for my frame, and had now developed a slow leak, so I have to reinflate it every 2 hrs or so (but that’s fine because I haven’t slept for longer than that at a time for the past 2 weeks anyway). Because my feet hang over the edge, it’s stuffed up my knee and I’m pretty sure I tore something a few weeks ago because of it.

Feeling like absolute shit cos I don’t have a fridge/cooking gear/cutlery outside of a fork, paper plates and a frypan I bought out of desperation, and ubereats every night is getting old/expensive.

Useless bunch of cunts.

Blimey I feel your pain. What a bunch of wankers. Incompetence at its best

Oh, yeah. Don’t use Toll.

My last job I slowly took everything off of Toll and moved it to Startrack …

I did the same thing. Not slowly though, as quickly as I could.

The Toll driver that did our pickups is a great guy and was great to us. I kept them going for longer just to have him visit!

People who send emails requesting information be updated in a spreadsheet which is saved on SharePoint and they have the ability to edit themselves.

It would have taken longer to write the email than make the change.

Cunt.

As a one off thing, agreed.

But as a process, surely everyone updating a spreadsheet is better than everyone emailing updates to someone who then has to update the spreadsheet?

Yeah this was a one off thing. No reason to not directly update the spreadsheet either. The action for everyone was “there are issues highlighted in yellow, these need to be fixed [by you] before we can prorgess”

Otherwise I would have just put the table in the email…

Innocuous but gear grinding.

We have a production meeting on Tuesdays. Our new logistics manager has now scheduled a supply chain meeting on Monday to prepare for the Tuesday production meeting …

Meetings about meetings!

I do hope he’s scheduled a review meeting about the meeting

I was thinking of asking my senior if we should have a meeting in the morning to prepare for the afternoon meeting.

Be careful of what you ask for!

Eventually you’ll get to daily standups.

Surely this would be in addition to a daily stand up.

I have 2 morning stand ups every morning.

It’s quite literally the biggest waste of an hour.

Man, I love working for myself, by myself.

Only “stand ups” I do are when I bunk off early to hit up Reckless Brewing on a Wednesday afternoon!

Do you walk and talk between the two stand ups? This would give the chance to review and prepare between sessions

Nah, they’re back to back.

I suppose you could argue they’re one long stand up, but we have two different teams links for them because our team joins another team for the second one.

I had them at Gate Gourmet.

“hilly hasn’t done this yet”.

I was in the middle of that and had to stop to come here and listen to you complain that I hadn’t done it yet. It would be done now if I didn’t have to walk 100m across the yard and listen to you whinge in a production area with high noise levels

The MD there soft banned me from meetings …

I had weekly QDIP meetings at the last one. All my KPIs were out of my control …
