For flu or general stuff i dont bother keeping to a regular GP. Just hit up hotdoc and filter by distance and availability of online bookings. Last 2 times, got to an appointment within an hour of looking online, both bulk billed.

Pretty sure it’s illegal for businesses to refuse stat decs now for sick days.
Either way it’s a load of shit to demand shit like this for a day or two off sick.

It’s up to the employer’s discretion, however they generally need to have a clear policy on it.

Going to the dr for a cold/flu is pointless. They will only tell you to go home and go back to sleep.
Unless you have severe respiratory distress or comorbidities that warrant antivirals.

There’s been some nasty bacterial infections floating around the past month or so. I’ve noticed the doctors are now starting to do a whole suite of swab tests.

Alright. So no, I’m not a Masochist :joy:

I certainly wasn’t feeling crash hot this morning.

I generally only use telehealth when I need a new script of one of my revular medications, or I’m sick, but not feeling-like-im-dying-sick.

Been given Tamiflu. Still feel like shit. But some hot food, a sleep and some herbal tea, I’m feeling a bit better. Got a few days off work, will work on more memes later.

Sick notes from doctors are such a crock of shit.

What a waste of everyone’s time by nosey, controlling employers.

Yeah I have to come into this office full of cunts and waste my 5 of 7 days of my entire week here, so my dickhead boss can build his 3rd holiday house and jetski. I was sick of doing this shit so I took the day off.

100% valid imo

Apparently the person that won the $40mill last week said they were going to keep working …

Probably bought a house in Sydney and needs to pay off the mortgage still.

This morning at 6.20am (Still pitch black) we were driving to work through Military rd in Cremorne, going south.

3 lanes going south, two north. The lights for the lane changes in force.

We were on the right lane opened up for south going traffic, out of nowhere a car was coming right at us in our lane around the corner. We were 20m from a head on and driver instinct was to swerve to the left out of the way. We managed to avoid the head on by metres, but hit the other van next to us on the left who was sharp enough to swerve to the left too, scraping each others sides and knocking out each of our mirrors and deep scratches to both cars. (Luckily no other car was to their left so we pulled over to the bus lane and assessed the situation.

Another van pulled over in front of us and got out, said he saw the whole thing.

“I’m a witness” he said. " I saw the whole thing, in my head i said ‘oh here’s a head on’. "

Luckily we managed to escape that real possibility. I’m still here writing this.

Still trying to come to terms that i could be dead and all over the news this morning.

My grind is, the archaic lane changing system not only through Mosman to Neutral Bay but even the Bridge it self.

Was on the verge of a panic attack if not a heart attack for an hour after the incident. Still recovering.

I’m sure it’s happened many times.

(Oh btw, the car in the wrong lane coming at us just kept going.)

Jesus that is a horrifically close call… glad everyone was relatively unscathed

Any dashcam footage? Would be great to find the other driver

No dashcam, just these from cctv. Our incident was between the times and just behind the intersection. The ending lane is where we pulled up.

Afraid the small purple/pink car kept going…

That’s fucking horrendous. Glad you are all ok.

The fact that I have a case of this stuff. Fark off Sumol, I’m having the good stuff
