I don’t buy a lot from Apple stores, but once on a work trip in the US I needed to get a new charger.
I grabbed what I wanted off the shelf, but their whole “we don’t do queues” thing was weird because there’s nowhere to go if you just want to pay for something.
In the end, I ordered and paid for the item using the app and selected pickup in store (where I was already). Even more weird was that the pickup instruction was to go to the store, help myself to the item and walk straight out.
I was so ready for alarms to go off and to be crash tackled by Rent-A-Mall-Cop for shoplifting.
My bedroom overnight, and loungeroom whenever I was home. But electricity is super expensive up there, cos there’s only one provider (which is still heavily government subsidised).
Just checked the bill, and there’s the $75 gov rebate and a signing bonus. But still would have been $220 otherwise.
I got an ex-racer Greyhound about 3 months ago now. She’s been terrified of pretty much everything that whole time. She’s played with her toys in front of me twice, and wagged her tail once during that time. Normally she won’t eat her food until I go to bed, where she alternates between eating/drinking/zoomies for half an hour. If I try and sneak downstairs to watch, she stops and goes back to sitting on her bed.
Because of the rain today, we didn’t go for our usual walk. She’s been a bit agitated all night, so I got down on the floor and tried to pay with her, and for the first time ever, she alternated between rolling on her back for belly rubs, and play fighting with me
One of my friends son got one as well.
He and his partner went overseas so his mum looked after it for them. She was worried that it would be far too big for her (she’s only 165cm and about 45kg) and high maintenance.
She said, apart from the massive shits it would do, it was a lot easier than looking after her own small dog.
Take it for a walk in the morning and then it would lay around all day. She’d take it for another walk in the evening and then it would sleep through the night.
I guess that’s because they’re bred to run quick, not to have endurance. Similar animals in the wild do the same thing, that is lay around and do nothing unless they’re hungry.
