The best thing to come out of Ruben’s career were the JayFC videos.

Honestly would be happy for Stanton to fill in as coach if we lacked options. As much as it is a bad thing for the Dub’s, surely their squad is good enough to be put on auto pilot with their assistant.

If we can pick any coach within the league, Uffie would be my pick, Staj would also be ideal for Sydney FC if he was willing to give up the filipino job.

I am 100% against Talay being manager for us at any point. It’s one thing to contest every decision and quite another to carry on like an absolute pork chop in almost every game.

This is exactly what Corica does.

It’s going to be a very shallow pool to draw from if that’s a requirement.

And every other coach in the league.

I sometimes wonder if it’s an Australian thing.

Maybe Bimbi has a couple secret sugarcane champagnes before each game. I mean he is from North Queensland…

The A-League refs have come out saying that it’s funny how many coaches have complained about referee decisions publicly, yet there’s hardly any that have given written complaints, which are part of their grievance procedures…

Classic Australian culture. Whinge and complain, but actually do fuck all about it. :grinning_face_with_smiling_eyes:

I wouldn’t. An assistant must be an integral part of the tactical set up, training, matchday selections etc and reading the game and making /recommending adjustments .
Stanton has had one hand on the steering wheel and presumably the other on Corica’s dick , so no thanks.

Juric is the Women’s coach not Stanton. And there is no evidence - at all - that Stanton is a good coach. If anything, one of the reasons for our decline may be Stanton as assistant rather than Talay.

Stanton is guilty by association.

Juric is also currently a part time coach and a full time teacher.

Is it worth it, at his age, to chuck in his teaching career to take on a full time coaching position?

In fairness, you can pick up a teaching career fairly easily, even after a few years can’t you?

This is from a Teachers NSW Facebook post.

  • Highest number of vacant positions in a decade

  • 3,311 positions vacant in November

  • 60% looking to leave in the next 5 years

  • Rate of young teachers leaving - 13 year high

Safe to say it wouldn’t be that hard to return to the job.

I think most of those positions are temporary.

On the dept of Ed job feed for permanent High School classroom teacher roles in NSW, there are 60.

I’m pretty sure he’s at Matraville Sports High.

Might not be the type of position he can leave and expect to get back.

FWIW, people can also ask to take leave without pay.

That’s amazing to me. The bloke should be the goddam national team coach !

He clearly loves coaching, for so long doing Olympic and Sydney and I dare say he would be payed more then teaching, and if he believes he is good enough he may never go back to teaching
