A homecoming?
A homecoming?
Apparently he’s on some ridiculous coin.
You’d be looking at somewhere in the region of $200k if you combine his match payments and salary from his day job.
I don’t think that he’d be all that interested to be honest. He’s 30 years old so any professional career is going to be short lived. He’s also got it very good where he is right now.
A former SFC youth player in his 30’s playing in the NPL part time.
I think i’d rather bring through a new youngster.
Leagues announced season dates and Unite Round fixtures- theyve actually gone and wasted a Sydney Derby and F3 derby on it
At the very least, should have done the two NSW derbies earlier, more likely for people to stay back
It would also make the logistics around Tifo’s easier to manage.
Also another absolutely ridiculous point, they’ve got the F3 derby on the Friday night. Assuming it’s starting at 7:00pm, that pretty much cuts out any one that works coming from Newcastle (insert joke about everyone north of Sydney not working here)
There’s the ROI, force those fuckers to take the Friday off and pony up for a Sydney hotel room.
Profit.
Isn’t this the “round 27”? It’s in addition to two other fixtures - each club should have this same matchup home and away elsewhere in the calendar.
Oh, fab, so any travelling Roar and Adelaide fans can go stand at the RBB end and chant “Fuck ofr Sydney FC” at our home derby. And this is the single one we’ll be hosting won’t it?
“I’m not worried about the A-League,” he said.
“Our role is to regulate the league, it’s not to operate it. That’s for the APL. We’re also, as the governing body of the sport, we’ve got a broader role to play to support the A-League, and we’re looking at ways right now that we can help the A-League increase its revenues and reduce some of its costs so that the distribution can improve in future years.
“But it’s not all doom and gloom for the A-League. I mean, if we look at the types of players that are being produced by clubs right now, we’re seeing more transfer revenue come into the A-League and into the clubs than we’ve ever seen before.
“We’re seeing players move directly from a club like Adelaide, for example, right to Bayern Munich. So look, there’s a lot of work to do. The product is very, very good on the pitch, and the metrics are starting to increase for the A-League, both in terms of the broadcast numbers and also the match day attendance.
“There is definitely some work to do, and our role is to to help the league and the clubs head further north.”
that’s a very strange take on it…
How bout instead of dicking around with this nonsense they stop making people have to pay thousands of dollars for their kids to play decent football.
Any self respecting supporters wouldn’t wanna associate with the RBB and the rest, so if they head down there and join they’ve lost a moral victory anyway. Do what they want, who cares.
Also just the assumption that the majority of Brisbane and Adelaide fans would decide to sit in the RBB…
And let’s be honest, how many Brissy or Adelaide fans will travel anyway?
Not really.
At the Roar vs. Jets men’s game last Unite Round which followed our women’s game, both sets of fans were chanting it with our team nowhere to be seen. If they travel to Sydney, have tickets to the double header, don’t you think it’s likely they’ll hang back just to talk shit? In any case, why TF are there two other teams and sets of fans involved on our derby night?
Paying a full season membership only to not be able to access our regular spot because there are “two home teams”. Nah, but any chance to disagree with me on something, I guess.
I think you’re deliberately being a dick about it because I said. I’ve witnessed enough fans of other clubs regardless of our presence talking shit about us. It’s not beyond the realm of possibility that they would be hanging back cheering against us, whether they’re specifically in the RBB bay or not. Saw plenty of Mariners supporters last Unite Round move over to the Reds section for our game.
There was a decent patch of Reds supporters against us last Unite and there wer Roar fans in their game against Jets at the SFS chanting “Fuck off Sydney”, etc.
In any case, having the derby be a Unite Round double header is shit.
I think you’ve all taken “sit with the RBB” a bit too literally. Roar fans hate us plenty, and whether they’re in a some random corner or actually in the RBB, they shouldn’t be there in the first place.
