Wasn’t there like 5 clubs that could front the money? Wasn’t going to happen anyway

Ok but that doesn’t mean no NSD getting off the ground.
APL now
No not at all. Just that it’s probably pretty seperate from the Aleague and seems unlikely to have any bearing on its finances.
Unless it takes off and puts a further dent in the broadcast rights…
So what do the NSD clubs get out of it if fuckhead slimy cunt Conroy has indicated that p&r is never going to happen?
He said it’s not on the table in the short term, he did not say never.
The nature of a franchise league is that p&r really can’t exist if any new teams haven’t engaged in some sort of buy in. I would imagine that there would be massive resentment amongst the existing APL members if p&r existed & teams that hadn’t engaged in that initial & ongoing buy in were promoted as equal APL members to the A League.
The nature of P&R is that you need clubs to form a National Second Division. There’s 8 clubs that are going to be in it. 3 from Victoria, 4 from Sydney and 1 from Wollongong… Can see that taking off really well when half the clubs outside of Sydney and Melbourne get replaced by Sydney and Melbourne teams
Browsing the World Wide Web on my Union approved luncheon break. Came across this nifty all-time table.
Discuss.
The jets being behind welly on total points despite playing nearly 10% more games is pretty sad.
Fuck we’re good.
God bless Arnie
56 point difference between us and Australia’s Shame. Short of a couple 'Spoon seasons, that shouldn’t be eradicated any time soon.
I feel like that large points difference (56 points is quite a gap, yes?) is courtesy of Graham Arnold and our Reign of Success throughout those years.
I shudder to think what the ladder might look like prior to that, or had we not had Arnie’s legendary success with us.
It’s better now than it was before Arnie’s reign.
Does this exist with the NSL combined?
I could look at that list all day.
It mustn’t include finals matches with 7 eams all on 488 matches.
Yeah I think its just league matches. Transfermarkt has a ladder that shows us on 500 matches, and weirdly a bunch of NSL clubs on single figures.
I got that from Ultimate A-League which is pretty reliable.
In my version you can look at the table at any given date:

(One difference with UAL is that I subtracted points from Perth for their salary cap penalty, although in reality they were just dumped down to 7th without officially losing points. I’ll have to fix that.)
We’re also miles ahead on the ALW table, but City has 0.01 more points per game:
Uffy should have a look at Rockdales Striker Alec Urosevski in the NPL… Has just notched up his 28th goal of the season this weekend, and has been pretty consistent over the last few seasons.
