Lol at phasing it out in stages when phase 1 is just pretending it doesn’t exist.
Hope next time Welly sell a player to Bournemouth they add in a Paulsen Clause prohibiting that player being loaned to Auckland.
So effectively they’ve given Heart and Auckland two bonus pseudo-marquees this year.
What a joke.
It’s pretty simple… loans from an associated club should always consume 100% of parent club salary from the cap.
The Alex King interview was really interesting, and has allowed me to discover their podcast which is quality.
No idea where else to put this, and maybe nobody else finds this interesting – watching a new Overlap clip last night and when asked who Man Utd’s worst signing of the EPL era was Paul Scholes named Mark Bosnich as their worst signing. Said he was extremely unprofessional, would not train well and couldn’t kick the ball over half way. I suspect Bozza won’t be to pleases to hear this…
I suspect having a rampant cocaine addiction has something to do with that.
Controversial opinion, and never having met the bloke, but I think Bosnich is completely overrated as a goalkeeper, footballer and pundit. It’s incredible that he made it to where he did.
He was phenomenal for a season or two at villa…

The 4 Aussies over at Hearts in Scotland are having a torrid start to their 24-25 season. Hearts have been pretty competitive in the last 2-3 seasons in Scotland.
They lost all 3 of their pre-season friendlies.
4 games into the Premiership, they’ve drawn their opening match against Rangers 0-0, and then have now lost 3 on the trot against Dundee, Motherwell & Dundee Utd.
Knocked out at the first match of the league cup against Falkirk.
And they lost both legs of their Europa League qualification match against Viktoria Plzen, relegating them down to the European Conference League.
Hof seems to be out injured again. Probably Atkinson, also.
Giancarlo Italiano just stated that Ishige can play as an inverted fullback. Isn’t that a striker?
Real question or no?
Inverted full back is when they move inside to join the midfield, generally in a wide holding role as support for attack
It doesn’t seem very clear. I know there’s such a thing as a full-back tucking in to create an extra body in midfield. I always thought an inverted full-back/wing-back played on the opposite flank to their preferred foot, cutting inside to create a potential shooting chance, rather than a cross as a full-back/wing-back traditionally would.
I think commentators get confused with it, as well.
It’s just the fact that the word inverted is defined as being in the opposite position something usually is. So if you invert a word, it’s upside down. In this case, the literally definition of inverted fullback almost seems like it’s a striker.
In FM, inverted FB is someone on the right or left with a decent enough opposite foot to the side they are playing on, usually comes inside to be an extra DM or CM in various roles depending on the player/tactic being played.
Inverted seems to mean a wide player that cuts in. It’s a fucking stupid name.
You’d have thought this might have come up for discussion before.
We’ve never discussed this before.
I mean, why would we? It’s not important. No point in searching for past discussions about this because they’ve never happened.
