Couldn’t be worse at signing their non-marquee foreigners.
Opens a spot for Rojas?

Don’t think he’s that much of a loss at all. He’s the weird type of foreigner we get here alot who isnt a genuine 10/AM and also isnt a real wide forward.
Luna is very wire-y and has some real class about him and can play in midfield. Cabrera was just sort of there…and like alot of these City guys showed flashes, but not much else.
Rojas to City is a decent shout actually. He’d add an extra touch of class to that attack and would feed Maclaren really well.
Also provides the benefit of pissing off Victory supporters.
Hilarious that Berenguer still has a contract with City somehow.
Cabrera looks like he’s on his way to Unión de Santa Fe.
Seeing Rojas mentioned a lot on Twitter as coming back to Melbourne. There’s no room at Victory unless they get mutual with one of their dud foreigners, but City have a slot with Cabrera gone.
My money is on City.
Cabrera is gone and City are going to make an announcement on his replacement next week.
Most likely to be Rojas which would be a good pickup. Didnt realise Cabrera was leading their assists.
Who was City’s last good foreign player? It’d Schenkeveld right? And then before that Fornaroli and Novillo?
De Laet? Harrison was pretty decent. Jakobsen? McCormick? Brandan?
Ok, maybe I was harsh. De Laet was really good, forgot about him and McCormack too. Those other two were solid.
Our two rivals have had some of the worst foreign recruitment in the league over recent years while their resources should be able to identify and attract some of the best.
FC though have done quite well with the 4 foreign imports this season.
A KiwiXtard…
A Canetoader via ManCiteh
A Xwesty German
A Croweater from Dundee
All have fitted well!
Both Noone and Luna are good imports. No-one does his job very well, he’s just not scoring like he was against NPL teams in the cup. Luna has class and is getting better. We’ve barely seen the CB so I’ll reserve judgement
The problem with City is because they’re well connected, they seem to just sign foreigners who
look good on paper but don’t fit what the team needs at all. They’re pretty much the only club who does this / is able to.
Timotheu apparently training with Western United today
Rojas has rejected a contract from City and may go to Melbourne instead:
Also Cacace may be off to Germany.
Ridenton apparently also trialling with an unnamed Championship club.
I find it ridiculous that HAL clubs are letting players go on trial mid-season. However if Ridenton lands the gig I hope he sends Branners a postcard.
Ridenton’s apparently at Reading. Makes sense for Jets as theyll probably get a transfer fee of some sorts.
As for Silvera. A weird one. He started the season so well then disappeared completely.
Ok I give up. Who is LAFC?
