Ironbark Fields/Tarneit

Has anybody been to Western United’s home ground? Besides being in the sticks somewhat, looks like it’s as easy to get there from Avalon as from Tullamarine… Anyone tried that option?

Tarneit is pretty much halfway between Tullamarine and Avalon airports. If you’re renting a car and staying in Werribee/Tarneit, then Avalon would be easier as there’s less traffic compared to the drive from Tullamarine. If you’re opting to use public transport or staying in the CBD, then you might want to go from Tullarmarine, as PT in Tarneit is pretty bad (I think the bus that goes from Werribee station to Tarneit station takes roughly 45 minutes?).

I know WU offer a shuttle bus from Tarneit station to the ground, but I’m not sure how often it departs. Getting into the stadium can also be a pain as there’s only one road to get in/out, so would try to arrive early.

Thanks for that.
I’ve decided to fly via Avalon, get the Skybus to Werribee, Western run a shuttle from there to the games…

Stay in Werribee Sunday night, bus back to AVV Monday morning

From what I gathered last time watching a Western home match & seeing behind the ground a convoy of SUV’s approaching the Ironbark carpark in single file in a barren wasteland like a scene out of Mad Max or an ISIS ground operation the place appears to have access challenges…

This may be the last opportunity, SUV or no, if the winding up order goes ahead

You don’t wind up a company that has a turn over of a few million over 50k. If they wind up, there’s 100% other shit happening in the background. The amount they’re talking about is less than the salary of a single employee for the club.

Almost certainly involving land and brown envelopes. Victorians, football & rezoning…
Nothing to see here, allegedly

Also, not going now because I got a job and I have to be at work on Monday like all you wage slaves :pensive:
