He’s been at the club for a year and it’s his first start. Hard to see this move working out, unfortunately.
edit: he’s scored 7 in 22 games for the reserves but that’s in division 3. This is from two minutes on wiki, but it’s hard for me to see him cracking the first team. Whose spot is he a legit threat to usurp?
No one but it’s a sign that he’s considered one of the top talents at the club in his position. He’ll likely move on eventually but still it’s kind of amazing to break through at the Nux and then move on to Bayern.
18 months ago he wasn’t even in the match day squad for Wellington Phoenix. Last night he started in a side that contained Robert Lewandowski and Thomas Muller. I wouldn’t write his future there off just yet.
Doesn’t this mean that Singh has started more matched for the Red Cunts than most former Manyoo players in the ALeague that Speed loves calling ex Manyoo players?
I thought he’s had a few games for the first team hasn’t he? For a team which would realistically have access to a ridiculous amount of potential players, it’s an amazing achievement.
Call me a cynic but my bar for an ‘amazing achievement’ is far higher than that. Is it a coincidence the title was clinched before he got his start?
I’m not shitting on Singh, or that’s not my goal. But he could go on to have a solid career in Europe and I’m unsure Bayern are his best bet to keep developing. Regular game time is the most solid formula for young players to continue their development.
Why didn’t he stay in the A-League? He could’ve gone the Mooy route if he became one of the league’s best then kept making good moves till he got to the best league in the world.
Theres more than one way to skin a cat. Sorry but if Bayern Munich come fucking calling 99% of people go there.
He’s obviously shown enough to be used in a side that was otherwise 80% the general starting 11 theyve played since they cruised past Dortmund to win the league. WIll he succeed there as a genuine option ? Who knows, but fuck me, he can go out on loan to a number of other great clubs there too when he’s too old for the Bayern II setup. Bagging this move is absolutely ridiculous imo.
It’s more the fact that they have him playing in the first team at all. 9 times out of 10, these moves end badly with the youth player being relegated to the youth/reserves team and hanging around before being inevitably sent off to a 2nd rate club or slinking back to their home country. Singh is currently a major player for the reserves 22 (7) and is being given opportunities to start for the first team over other players. They obviously see something in the kid and are giving him every chance to prove himself.
