Memberships 2019/20

Bay 209 with the knuckle-draggers, but down the southern end.

After all the bs in the media both in the last week and more generally trying to compare basketball and football, it looks like the club is going to announce that Sydney FC members can go to a Sydney Kings game for free and Sydney Kings members can come to one of our games. Apparently Danny T started a company with the owner of the Sydney Kings years ago.

Edit: Confirmed by the club with details to follow in members’ emails

Does this signal the beginning of the end for SFIAB?
I just bought a new barrel :frowning:

Anyone care to speculate why we’re down 2-3k on memberships this year? Is it following the normal trajectory and we pick up the difference through the season?

I’m guessing the lack of a stadium

The 3-4 game memberships tend to get picked up late in the season. I’m also not sure if ACL memberships count to that number but if they do then that would make up the difference alone.

Not that I expect the club to release such info, but it would be fascinating to see a full detailed background of our membership base (breakdown by suburb, what the statistics are on those that have held membership for 8+ years etc).

They’ve given percentages of members across geographic areas in the past.

Ye I know, and that was interesting, but I’d love to see a detailed set of figures.

Also wouldn’t surprise me if we got a nice little nudge up in memberships around when the home derby is on.

There’s talk of clubs having to refund partial membership fees to members if games are to be played in closed out stadiums.

How do people feel about that? I get the rational behind it but I’d honestly be happy for the club to keep my money. They’re going to have it tough enough with wages etc to still pay.

SFC can keep my membership money.

WSW can refund me for next weeks derby.

Actually, silver lining and all, maybe Ticketek will go out of business. :crossed_fingers:

I’d be fine if they kept it, but if they want to take the price off my membership renewal next year I won’t complain.

How about letting 300 or so spectators at each game? Maybe 50 active supporters and 250 on the sidelines?

Logistically not the easiest but maybe members email the club with expressions of interest and club confirm via e-mail?

Should present minimal risk to fans and lots better than behind closed doors.

I presume we may see closer to the NBL GF in Perth last night. Maybe 150 or so people, employees (fuck you Shane!), family, friends and club sponsors only.

I’ve been here since the Manly game, that makes me family right?

No need for a refund here. There are only two home games left after this anyway, it isn’t exactly a massive chunk of change lost out on.

Three home games left - Wellington, WU and Jets.

Oh yeah the rescheduled game, I forgot about that. My above post remains the same nonetheless. I haven’t been pouring money into memberships for the last 12 years to get value for money, if that was the case I would have hoped for full refunds for several entire seasons!

I think the club will probably make next season’s memberships cheaper anyway.

Plus it looks increasingly likely we may not get the last two home ACL games as well for those of us with those memberships.
