I’m not a fan.
I’m not a fan.
Yeah Blue Cheese is one of the few things I won’t eat.
Every other cheese is fine.
As mentioned previously, carbonara is a dish that I haven’t able to master. But decided to give it another go and make it for friends for dinner.
Probably my best so far! Used proper guanciale from the in-laws when they came to visit from Rome.
You made it with penne?
Needs pepper and parsley imo. Don’t listen to the dude who hates cheese - Penne is fine, if it’s good qual
We do it with Penne as well, depending on what’s in the pantry at the time…
Looks really nice though. Agree that it does need pepper though. We’re making it for dinner tonight. One of the few “adult” dishes my 4 year old will eat. Although we just use Polish bacon rather than guanciale
Now I’m going to have to make pasta again soon!
Where’s the cream?
There’s pepper in there, believe it or not. But I also add pepper at the end (before pic was taken).
My missus would never accept me using parsley.
Think it would offend her as Italian born and raised in Rome.
Parsley is to food what as to what Raygun is to a high-quality athlete.
One of the key ingredients to an El Bulli soup is parsley. 3 Michelin stars disagrees.
Lucky you’ve posted that just as it’s been revealed that she’s ranked #1 in the world.
Because otherwise, it would be crazy talk. Pretty much any seafood + salt + olive oil + parsley is a basic classic which stands the test of time
I like cheese just fine thank you very much!
I just have no use for blue cheese.
As long as there’s no dill… Dill to the world of food is equivalent to pineapple on pizza in Rome
He’s a really interesting one, does anyone have any “normal” foods that they just absolutely hate or can’t eat? I’ll preface this by stating, lets not turn it into a pineapple on pizza debate (despite my previous post).
For mine, I can’t do cucumber. My mum used to make a cucumber salad when I was younger, with cream, dill and lemon, that, for some reason, I just could not eat. I didn’t like the texture, didn’t like the taste, but being ethnic, I was forced to eat it. Because of that, I’ve always hated cucumber. I’ve only slowly gotten back into it, although the only way i’ll eat it, is in tzatziki
I can’t do avocado, the texture is a nightmare for me.
I absolutely hate pumpkin. Taste and texture.
Not sure when I first noticed it, but ever since I can remember I’ve avoided it.
Cant imagine why that salad would need cream. Dill, almost always with lemon is best on fresher dishes - cucumber or tomato salads or with fish.
For me - I absolutely cannot stand things with hardboiled egg. Annoys me when it sullies ramen, or even threw me off an otherwise fantastic shakshuka recently because the egg was too hard.
Which is fucking ridiculous, but I digress.
