"Not knowing how to cook, is like not knowing how to f**k". - The Cooking Thread

I once had a halumi burger at the pub. It was nice and greasy like a real burger. Not as good as the real thing but quite enjoyable. I could use it as a meat alternative if I had to

My daughter is officially on the beige diet… We’re sneaking in veg and red meat however we can. Will still sometimes do brocolli and tomato. We do have a winner with lasagne though which is something at least, but such a pain to cook… Yesterday my carbonara turned into one with zucchini very finely grated through. She ate it at least… The youngest though barely touched it

Thank the Lord we don’t live in that world.

My kids love my pasta. Which is good, because I love my pasta as well.

I find grating carrots, zucchini, eggplant and anything else that’s gratable allows me to ensure they’re getting some vegetables in their diet.

If we’re out and I feed them hot chips, which is their favourite food I just tell their mother that I fed them a vegetarian meal for lunch. I’m not wrong…

Same, but my wife and kids can eat a billion pasta and still stay thin.

I… cannot…

My problem is that it usually takes a bottle of red to make pasta…

Stop cooking with drinkable red!

My In Laws are away and the delivery guy left some very expensive reds in the middle of their entryway, for anyone to see and steal. I’ve done my civic duty and grabbed them, i’m also offering to taste test to make sure the 3 hours they were out in the cloudy day hasn’t spoilt the wine

To properly test the effect of sunlight on wine you will need to establish a control group that consumes the same variety of wine straight from Dan Murphy’s.

Do you even vegetable?

why would he? The cow where that came from did all the hard work for him

Made it tonight. I’ll admit I embellished with grilled cheese on toast, but despite initial trepidation from children, there will be no left overs. The eldest went back for thirds.

Great dish. Recipe was FAR too stingy with the herbs and parsley, for mine.

Yeah we use extra dried rosemary and thyme because lazy…also add in an extra cup of stock, and mostly blend up the beans so it’s a bit more liquidy, if having leftovers we found it would be mostly beans the next day so that extra liquid does wonders.

It’s a super simple dish, but delicious.

So I made this last night and it was a hit. I poached a chicken breast in the stock, which I then diced and added just before serving to warm through. Definitely going in the rotation

Made my first ever Mac and cheese paired with fried chicken. Got both recipes fro recipetineats. Got to say i really outdid myself. The cheese could maybe have been a bit creamier than cheesy and my oil temp was a bit off for the chicken, but definitely a nice qay to finish the weekend.

Bigger win, my 4 year old enjoyed the pasta and my 2 year old enjoyed the chicken!
