Old media - the past was the was the worst

Doing a job in freshwater and found these gems on the top of the kitchen cupboards collecting dust. Any one else found anything FC or A-liga related floating around?

I’m just amazed we got some coverage. Also Sebba spotted

They think that was bad, wonder what headline they came up with for the nightmare on McBreen Street.

Sunday Sport headline in two years time

As a kid I used to cut out news stories of Sydney FC and keep them in a folder.

Sadly, all that was tossed when I moved outta home.

I’ll raise you an Alejandro Salazar article.

Some of those quotes are the best!

A little while back Sydney FC sent me a load (several boxes’ worth) of newspaper clippings related to the club from over the years. I’ve organised them somewhat, but they’re sitting in my garage until I work out what to actually do with them. I guess this thread is a good place to start.

Salazar article is great — he also did a TWG interview around that time where he said he aims to be in the US national team within five years. :face_holding_back_tears:

My contribution: this ad, “commissioned by Sydney FC to invite sponsors and club members to watch their inaugural Hyundai A-League match.”

Hook. This. To. My. Veins.

“Watch us play here, at Aussie Stadium” (despite clearly being on the AFL paddock across the road, netless goals, filmed on a Nokia mobile phone.

When/if you get the time, scan and upload them. That’s brilliant.

Bit of a Wollongong connection? Correction- I thought I saw Sasho Petrovski

He exists!

That video reminded me of … … erm ‘the big blue man’ …

Beckhams all like “Why has he asked me to hold onto a bunch of USB sticks?”.

Bend me Beckham

Looks happy in his Sydney shirt, if something was tabled to better the keys to borrow the holiday home on the east coast offer from the jets or was it mariners then who knows.

That Ad is one of the greatest 40 seconds ever committed to film - tremendous stuff
