"pending final ratification overnight, the APL are at least finally freed from the ongoing burden of propping up Glory whose longtime owner Tony Sage handed back the licence last July after his cash reserves ran dry.

Pelligra plans to install former Socceroos Vince Grella and Mark Bresciano - both heavily involved in his Catania project - as executives in the new Glory regime."

Exciting times out west. Dunno how you reconcile new licences going for $20 mil while these guys got the Perth license for a song, but I can see the argument that preserving a long-term club is good for the league…

He’s buying a club that’s currently in receivership, the debts won’t be discharged especially if he’s putting millions into the club, he’s going to have to pay off those debts, likely over time.

Terrific news

Saying some of the right phrases so far. Obviously actions will talk louder

This is great news. Have to recapture their former glory days, it seems a lot of people out there are very excited about this.

For sure. I loved the glory days of Perth Glory.

BTW, the Robertson playing for Wollongong is the same one who played in the Daft Punk game.

Not only playing for Wollongong in exotic place like Perth, Robertson played for clubs in England, Scotland and Hungary and played for Australia at u20 and u23 level and got one Socceroos cap.

One might say football took him Around The World.
