Needed that win. Caceras Kamsoba combo has been awesome
I didnāt expect to ever say that goals from Anthony Caceres would get us out of jail, but it kinda did. Heās really kicking on to a new level and its great to see.
And heās finally got a proper song. Great day out.
Enjoyable game to watch and 3 points from a very understrength FCā¦The squad depth has been tested, against MVthe league leaders AND the cup finalistsā¦looking forward to more good performances but with added somersaults please.
I have to say at that point I thought we were done. But we outclassed them for much of the game and just kept pushing hard right until the end in horrible playing conditions.
We also played entertaining football, the last two games we needed a response after bad performances against Brisbane and Perth, and Corica has lifted the team when weāve needed it.
All of a sudden if we get ALF and Kosta back, get Ninko fully fit, get Grant and Redmayne back from NT duty, we are looking like a team that can push for another title.
Oh and Leichhardt > Kogarah.
On that vein, he could probably do with being taken on a trip to such an establishment to work this pent up tension off.
Mariners looked completely cooked just before we equalised.
Covid has stuffed their fitness.
Kittens is not fit for this purpose.
3 Elvis
2 amini
1 papi
Amini is a great pick up. How many years has he signed for? Hopefully we can rebuild around him.

That was a wild arvo out at the footer.
Long live Leichhardt Oval!
The crowd looked way better than at Kogarah - what was announced?
They never announced it but just checked on FotMob - 6,855.
Our past two A-League games at Kogarah had a tick over 4,000, one of them probably getting a bump due to Sturridge playing.
We should seriously consider playing out our Kogarah home games at Leichhardt instead, I think we have one or two set for the SCG which can stay. I say this as someone who has it harder getting to Leichhardt as well.
Worth mentioning though there are probably a bit less people with COVID or isolating today compared to prior weeks, but todayās game felt way better than Kogarah snorefests.
Leichhardt would have been pretty crap out on the hill today, but on balance is 10x better than Kogarah because the playing surface is in the same suburb as the spectator areas. Kogarah has a kind of sad dreary vibe about it and the staff there are fuckwits.
Only issue is now that weāve played 10 games. Victory and West Melbourne have 2 games in hand on us, Melbourne City have 1, and Macarthur have 4.
All the teams below us have multiple games in hand as well. Going to be a rollercoaster of a season in terms of ladder spots.
We should be moving heaven and earth to keep Amini, best on park today.
Not just the passes and movement (and speed at which he does it), but off the ball he was organising our attack. He was stepping up and telling Elvis and Boo-hagiar where to be and what to do. He was also first over to Trent after the second sitter missed to console him and try to help him refocus. Weāve been completely aimless at times in attack this season so having someone like him there doing that made such a big difference.
On Trent and the boos. A bit rough i think. I was one of the boo boys for both Neill for the Roos and Aloisi at the cursed Perth game, circumstances so different. Trent isnāt on top dollar stinking the joint up, only in the team on reputation. Heās a young player whoās had a tough start to his career with injuries, has tried hard, but it just isnāt working. If we werenāt so short of players he probably wouldnāt be playing as much anyway. Iām still in favour of sending him to the glue factory but the boos a bit much.
I lasted 5 mins on the hill before sweating harder than Epstein during lights out and scrambling for the shade.
Still better than kogarah.
