I’ve wondered whether travelling up on the day throws them out of kilter. They never seem up for it.
We are probably their most hated team after the Mariners so it wouldn’t surprise me if there’s some derby in their attitude to games against us.
I don’t remember there being much edge to most of the Sydney-Newcastle games. Sydney just plain suck more often than not when going up there to play. I remember us even losing in the Arnie era when we were up a player for most of the game.
