And on a tarry pitch too!
And on a tarry pitch too!
Really good win considering we had a game midweek.
That shape looks to have a much better balance for us.
I’d say no bad performances in that effort. King his best game for ages. De Jesus completing 90 and looking improved. Plus Sega getting the goals his effort and improvement deserve.
Hopefully no serious issue for Anas.
De Jesus with an Alex Tobin point.
I wasn’t at the game on Wednesday for Lolley’s hat trick, and I’m not there tonight for Sega’s.
Am I the baddie? Maybe I should stop coming to games.
We completely ran over them despite our schedule, pretty worrying for them tbh.
But that was deserved and the best 90 of our season in a game that really mattered. Couldn’t be happier.

Dont return. Cant wait for Grant’s hat trick next game
As Leroy said, he’s come back stronger and that is what got him that goal
I think he also saw the workload that it takes to make it. He didn’t really make it over there and I think, as someone who left with big wraps on them, it kind of hurt him.
Instead of getting down though he knuckled down and improved his game.
Hopefully he kicks on from this and even if he doesn’t get another move then we get to see his goal celebrations every week.
Undefeated in five, 15 goals scored in those games.
Uffy out!
Look, we weren’t overly great, most of our blokes looked tired and sluggish, but this is one of those games where a sub makes the biggest impact. Segecic turned the game on its head when he came on. Definitely can’t complain about a 4-1 win though, well done.
Not getting carried away yet. Its nice to have a run against the bottom of table teams, and mariners were utterly insipid in that 2nd half. Kaltak alone created as much for us as our midfielders.
Still, we beat the team in front of us, werent troubled too much at the back, no evidence of the crippling vulnerability to quick counter attacks - all things that were asked of the team.
Alos thought we looked better in the second half as Sena started to get in between the lines which in turn allowed Caceres more chance to play forward.
As for Sega. Burried 3/4 chances. Legend.
Not perfect, but few games are. Pretty convincing win. Well done to the whole outfit.
We’ve actually scored more goals in the league than anybody.
We’ve looked a lot better these last 2 games.
In saying that, I cannot wait to be standing in the Cake Tin in 17 degree weather, the wind blowing a gale and our peaches being thoroughly baguetted.
Felt like the players really managed to settle in after the 2nd and 3rd goals. Passing was spot on and they were playing some beautiful passes once the pressure was off. Almost felt like we were back to normal.
Still not convinced on Sena. He really does go down very easily all over the pitch.
This is still a massive issue. Ouahim discarded some strapping earlier in the second half so I would put my life savings on the one early sub being dictated by his fitness rather than being tactical genius from the gaffer.
It took an eternity to get JK and Quintal on even at 3-1 and game over. JK once again only gets injury time, cheeky bastard still gets an assist on the final goal and then personally sees to it that Sega gets the love-in he deserved. Superb stuff watching those two bounce off each other.
This really is such a strange team. We top the league in goals scored. Our overseas players look good, we have genuine young talent coming through the ranks. We have an over abundance in attacking options. So much so, we’ll be loaning attackers out and sending them on. Yet as we all know, our defence is a joke. Credit where credit is due, Talay has attempted to fix this. Holman should take credit in fixing our defensive issues. Grant as centre back, I was skeptical about but thus far, it seems to have worked. We’ve mostly stemmed the bleeding but against some pretty poor opposition. The top teams will still find us out but we score so many goals, who knows how this season will turn out?
The Jeckyle and Hyde season continues. Sena makes a big difference, he really knows how to control tempo and I think helps us keep possession.
The balance is MUCH better with Sena and Holman holding and Caseres higher up. I think this has to be the formation going forward and when Costa is fit we rotate the front 3.
Surely Sega starts next week? Ouhim off the bench. It’s so great to have genuine attacking threats off the bench. Uffie just needs to trust them sooner. Lolley was absolutely spent after 70 mins.
