We’ve been shit and gotten good and become shit again in the time that Burgess was frozen out. I don’t think that’s it?
Everyone looked exhausted today and I think that explains enough.

With the first goal, I wonder if HDM’s failure to back himself to get to the ball was conditioned by his bitter experience on debut under very similar circumstances where a slightly odd bounce resulted in his getting sent off.
Yeah but it’s not a good look regarding Burgess. It’s a sign of a bad manager if you can’t get players to work with you. Regardless how rebellious they are.
Klimala is good but he does some stupid shit. Twice recently he has missed sitters in the match by doing dumb casual flicks in front of goal. One time Lolley cleaned it up and scored, the other cost us a draw with Wellington. Not to mention he always looks like he will do something dirty and get sent off.
However of all the foreigners Sena is probably the worst signing. He has a high technical ability but low work rate, poor in defence, and happy to dive on the ground and leave us 6 v 1 at the back
Yep, as much as I like the conspiracy theories, it’s just more logical to think that the squad was run into the ground, which is crazy, when we have so much potential in the bench that only comes on at 80+ minutes
Shits me that Australia’s shame are on a SIX match streak without winning (albeit playing generally well) but that were going to help them end that with a likely peach baguetting next week
Jaushua Sotirio
goals 0
superfluous vowels 1
passes completed 3
fouls conceded 5
boos 5000
someone who is good at the economy please help me budget this. my football club is dying
You missed the lost footings. I counted two in the first four times near the ball
Surely watching that again is the wrong direction?
Actually, back on the conspiracy theories - did Uffy punt Burgess from Wellington when he came in? Did they have a run-in then, and Uffy has a long memory? (Which we know he has, since he still rates Sotirio from his time there)
I checked Wikipedia and seems like Burgess’s contract was meant to overlap with Uffy’s first year at Wellington, but he ended up going to Western
Burgess went with Rudan to Western, had an amazing first season, then was frozen out there.
Yeah Rudan took him with, along with Kurto and Durante. Though my memory of him being frozen out by Rudan there is that it was only after he’d agreed to come back to us, so he hadn’t played for ages before coming home.
Does mean he’s shown he’s willing to sit out and see through a contract before, so knocking back CCM maybe not that big a surprise.
I agree with the same group of players being physically tested with so many games over a short period of time and the bench possibly not being used to the team 's best advantage. But is there also a mental approach within the team / management where they approach some games where the thought is that this opposition team “is way below us on the table” and the expectation is to win easily. Look at the results over the last 10 weeks or so and the results tend to support this in my view.
Remember that time we lost to a team coached by Ruben Zadkovich
Truly the lowest point.
I was hoping not to remember. Turns out I didn’t drink enough after the game.
Lolley was absolutely out on his feet last Saturday, when we were up 4-1 late and still wasnt pulled.
I know the bloke wants to play but you could see he was amazed he wasnt subbed a few times. Just dumb stuff.
In the past i always liked Talay as a manager & was always curious to see what he could do with a good squad & better resources.
We’ve got our answer now i guess. WTF.
Does the topic of Uffys replacement need to be addressed? Or will the club just cut their losses and ride this season out with not playing finals football?
If we don’t make the finals we should definitely consider looking at other options. Arnie would be my first call.
I still think we will make the finals though
I agree. I look around at this years comp and it’s pretty grim. Even CFG, Melbourne City, and Auckland are less than impressive often. We will probably come 5th or 6th.
Should that make a difference to whether we keep Talay or not? In my opinion it shouldn’t, particularly when looking at our squad, the board would have surely set a target of top 4 finish, possibly higher? Whether we come 5th or 8th, the season would still be a disappointment.
