Yes, he didn’t use Nick Carle they way he should have but it’s not like he had the best crop of youngsters this club has ever seen on the bench either.

That’s it. I turned up to RoT games knowing we’d be shit from the teamsheet, for some reason atm I’m turning up expecting so much more.
Getting the most from your squad is not quantifiable, but feels like we’re miles away atm.

Most managers would struggle to get a tune out of our defence.
Seemingly the leagues shortest keeper, an aging RB turned into a bespoke CB for 3 games, a fallen Socceroo who is out of form and an academy product who’s brought in purely for the sake of change.
He’s dropped Redders, he’s played Gurd, he dropped Matthews, he played Popovic - can’t say Talay hasn’t tried to find a solution.
Also doesn’t help having Sena give the ball away endlessly in midfield.
It has to be asked. Is De Jesus really playing that badly? I actually think he is playing much better than expected. He seems to have developed a bit in the last few months.

Stop playing a ludicrously high line if you don’t have the cattle to do it. Pretty simple really.
But, and it’s a fucking big but, if you want to continue to do it then don’t make your first signing in the transfer window a 29yo wide forward who hasn’t played for 2 years.
It’s the same as Ange at Spurs. I get it, you have your philosophy, but you can’t make it work overnight, you have to work towards it. You need to compromise.

You basically stole my post-game thoughts, I will probably just say the same thing less succinctly.
I was embarrassingly defending the Sotirio signing because he was supposed to replace Wood as barely being played.
He got like 35 minutes tonight, his first professional football minutes in 2 years. A guy who was a mid/lower A-League player prior to debilitating injuries and who has only got older.
The fact he gave so much time to Sotirio tonight was bad, but to give him minutes over Kucharski who has consistently performed well with minimal minutes is criminal. What a complete and utter slap in the face to a player who has worked hard, scored derby winners, scored last minute goals in the Australia Cup leading to us winning it - being put in line behind a shitty loan player, with that loan player being Jauaushua fucking Sotirio.
It’s a slap in the face to us fans too and is the opposite of the sort of ethos that the club should stand for, and absolutely reeks of ‘jobs for the boys’ from Talay which is suspect to say the least.
We got blasted at home by the team coming last who before tonight was quite easily on track to become the worst club in A-League history. And we achieved that with a squad who probably has (had) a market value of double any other club, being completely misused by the manager.
Have we got any points from Talay outmanaging our opponents this season or has everything good just come from Lolley/Costa/Segacic individual quality or the opposition getting an early red (Victory)? Wests are dogshit and we have basically mentally broke them at this point so our wins over them are hardly worth mentioning.

He was abysmal today much like the rest of them.
He was taken off injured just 3 days ago so you’d have to question his fitness for today. Still, he wasn’t good enough for the NPL, he’s not good enough for the A League.
Maybe my bar was set so depressingly low that he couldn’t possibly squeeze under it.
Most strikers will look terrible playing one up front, this formation does not suit him
Agreed. Having JK or Sega run off him would be fun. But we need to accommodate 4 central midfielders in the team so can’t.

So we have victory away, adelaide home, wsw home, then two legs in asia then perth away, so tonight was our last chance for a while to rest some players and rotate the squad
You could argue the entire squad had a good rest for at least 80 minutes

I personally think whatever shit happened with Burgess its unsettled the whole squad. Wouldn’t be surprised if Uffy and Burgess had a blue in front of the whole change room
