We are 100% going to lose Nieuwenhof to another club who will start him and see him thrive. For fucking Retre. This is getting stupid.

Nieuwenhof should go to Europe. Trouble is that unflashy but incredibly adept and dominant no.6s donā€™t catch the eye as much and he might not catch the eye like eg Kuol.

Ultimately Hoff being in wonā€™t change the problem we have. Retreā€™s defensive workrate and experience is also what youā€™d prefer in a Big Blue - plus he really hasnā€™t done anything wrong this season. Retre and Brattan won us the toilet seat. Calem is good but I donā€™t think heā€™s ready for a Big Blue.

He already bossed Victory in a GF, heā€™s ready.

For real though, he dominated ACL and should be able to take the piss out of this MV midfield, but Paulo has also been good the last few games. Hopefully we will see more of the Hof as we work through this fixture pile-up.

Iā€™m pretty concerned about if Retre does get injured weā€™re also just weaker all over because heā€™s got versatility. At this stage Zullo is indefinitely out so weā€™re praying for no King injury, HVDS did well filling in for Grant against ADL but that was one game, and Retre has even gone further up the pitch in early Coricaball.

Warland has done LB in the past but uh I donā€™t recall it going super well

Great promo package for the pre-game.

Did you like totes miss Retre being terrible at the start of the season?

Which of course isnā€™t his current form.

Niewenhof completes double the tackles per 90 minutes (1.83 vs 0.89) with a higher success rate (66.7% vs 57.1%) while committing fewer fouls (1.46 per 90 vs 1.67). He wins significantly more duels (12.1 vs 8.4) at a much better success rate (54.5% vs 42.7%), as well as making almost double the interceptions per 90 (1.83 vs 1.00).

He completes the same amount of passes per 90 (57.1) but does so at a slightly higher accuracy (91.8% vs 90.0%), both in our own (94.4% vs 91.9%) and opposing (88.5% vs 86.0%) halves. Despite a similar break-down of forward/sideways/backwards passes, he has more than double the number of key passes per 90 (1.83 vs 0.78).

Also noteworthy is more than triple the number of successful dribbles (1.83 vs 0.56), while having both a goal and an assist to his name - neither of which Retre has done in much more game-time.

In terms of work-rate I really donā€™t think that Retre has any claim given that Niewenhof delivers as much or more output in every single facet of the game.

Niewenhof also didnā€™t shit the bed and throw away any chance at a premiership with an idiotic red card.

Kosta to score a double tonight.

yeah thatā€™ll do it

8 minutes before kick-off, on a clear Saturday night in Melbourne. Youā€™d think it was a dead rubber ACL match on a stormy Tuesday nightā€¦ plastic bandwagoners the lot of them.
