Round 18 - Perth vs Sydney FC - 22/2/25

This is going to be one of those games where we should be winning comfortably but right off the back of a midweek game going to extra time, particularly with some key players playing the whole game, I’m really quite nervous about how ugly this could get.

I am excited to see how uffie rotates the squad….

To be fair the result is secondary to me finally getting to see a game of football from our men’s squad.

It’s been a few years.

Will play out similar to the away game vs Auckland earlier in the season, think we will put in a valiant effort but Perth will get over the top of us in the last 20 minutes. If Klimala and Ouahim play that will be a big boost as they didn’t even travel to Thailand.

3-1 loss.

Unless Klimala and Ouahim have injuries, I see no reason why they wouldn’t start and play a full game here.

Ouahim had illness and Klimala was ‘injured’ (or possibly the other way around), but I just read the ins and outs and they are both fine now.

Shaw got a hamstring injury in the lead up to the Bangkok game so he might be out for a while.

Oh god, if we don’t beat these shmuck so help me god……:man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming::man_facepalming: But then again, after that Brisbane game, who knows how much lower we can sink.

We were already shit against Perth and needed Lolley to beat them on his own just 6 weeks ago. I’ve seen nothing since to indicate we’ll be markedly better, so get your P&B’s ready.

Anyone know if Patty will play for them or do we have a gentleman’s agreement?

Perth have been a lot more competitive recently, so a win over there shouldn’t be a given anyway.

Now that is a funny suggestion. Why would he want to do that? It’s not like the players looked like they were about to die on Wednesday night…

Prepared for another rescue mission to paper over the cracks this week

4-3 to someone.

I think it’s a loan rule you can’t play against your parent club.

Danny da Silva springs to mind he wasn’t available to play against his parent club when he was loaned to us

Its gonna be a tough ask to get a win after that mid week game. Even if we rotate it’s pretty much all youth players. I’d be content with a draw but I wont be surprised if we lose.

We’ve papered over the cracks that many times, we’re like a papier mache wall at this point

No this midweek was the papered over cracks one. Tomorrow, exhausted and improperly managed, and set up with square pegs in round holes seemingly after macrodosing on LSD, is the one where the cracks are once again exposed. Then next weekend, some fresh papier mache can be stuck over them again.

We just have to keep it tight till the 80th - then Uffie can press the “We Want Goals Now” button that brings on Sega, Costa and Kucharski.

Think we’re losing this one. Perth has been steadily improving and we… haven’t.
