Round 23 - Roar vs Sydney FC - 29/3/19

This is turning into a repeat of recent games where we don’t shoot when we have the chance. Again. And again. And again.

Brosque is just awful lately. He’s really on the nose tonight …

We love to overcomplicate things inside the box.

ABC radio is saying that our fans are louder than the roar fans!

Well that certainly won’t end up on the Xbox list of achievements, will it?

Reza and SDJ on at half time might add the extra creativity to get through the Roar defence.

Our decision-making is nowhere near as sharp as it needs to be. Brisbane are clearly looking to hit on the break and could be quite dangerous, though Wenzel-Halls hasn’t caught fire yet and nobody else in Brisbane is anywhere near on Bautheac’s wavelength.

How the absolute fuck does Jacob Pepper not get a card there? Has he left his cards at home?

Caceres a little too slow with the ball.

Otherwise not bad. Overloads working well in defence.

Caceres is definitely not the worst offender there. Brosque is really struggling. I’d say Reza is on at the 60-65 min mark at the latest. But we do have to save some of our starters for the ACL in midweek so its understandable that Brosque started.

It is going to be a sad, sad day for the club when Ninkovic retires. The guy is a delight every single week.

We really need to take more risks with the ball. We are currently just passing around the outside of the box but not taking any chances. Our full backs in particular aren’t offering much to stretch play.

The only real mistake I think Caceres has made is the one time the Brisbane back-line had dropped off about 30 yards. Free space in front of him and no Brisbane player closing him down. I was always told that, even at division whatever it was I played in, if there was space to run into and teams were sitting off, to run with the ball into space, either drawing a player or two out of the line to present a passing option, or you keep going until you get into a decent chance to shoot. Instead, he just took an easy pass across to Grant. I think he’s been okay otherwise and not turned over the ball much.

I think it needs to be said but what the fuck has happened to Le Fondre? Golden boot leader for most of the season, he’s now seems to have vanished into the Bermuda Triangle.

Going way back into our shell here.

I feel the second half collapse brewing

He’s one of us now

Yeah I was thinking earlier when was the last time Alf scored from open play. Rezas signing seemed to have coincided with the drop

Le Fondre is getting no service and being forced to come into midfield to see the ball. We are also so damn narrow.

It’s like the players don’t know what they are meant to do out there.

That was more arnieball

ALF is getting a few more balls earlier this half, but his reactions to them are symptomatic of someone who hasn’t much ball in the last 4-5 weeks.

Brillante ?
