Round 23 - Sydney FC vs Wellington Phoenix

Sydney FC Men
v
Wellington Phoenix
Allianz Stadium
Sunday 16th March
7:00pm AEDT KO

Pride Celebration round.

I’ve never made a match thread before but it’s literally tonight and I need my fix of wild speculation. How will Uffie rotate the squad? Will we see a hostage vid from Max Burgess? Will pashing be a crime? Etc.

Guessing we will see a season low crowd given the extreme heat and kick off time. The heat should be hard for Wellington to handle. A lucky/unconvincing 2-1 win for us.

Players will probably start to consider this as a secondary competition considering the bonuses involved for ACL2 imo

Must win if we are to be in finals, the final games will be tough.

Auckland, Western and City.

City twice. Throw in Adelaide away and Newcastle (given the form they’re in) and it’s a very tough run home.

Cool change due sometime late this afternoon/early this evening.

Wouldn’t be surprised if there is some sort of delay in this game due to lightning.

Based on my weather app which is questionable but usually about right, it’ll be 33 degrees at kick off, about 30 degrees at 9pm. Cool change will come around midnight. No storm or lightning forecast. EDIT: BOM does say chance of thunderstorm later at night along the coast…but if the cool change comes later at night it should miss the game.

Yikes.

My question is, will Talay? Given the conditions I sure hope we get to see major rotation, but if 3 points here are crucial to finals, how much will he want to rely on the kids? Given the up and down results, making ALM finals may be a make or break KPI for him regardless of success in Asia.

Lolley also struggles in the heat

It’s going to be brutal

Bad day to be a beer

Did the Coogee to Bondi to Coogee walk this morning. I can confirm it is hot and somewhat hostile to northern hemisphere types from temperate rain forests (Vancouver). I can also reveal that Lululemon is doing very well in the Eastern Suburbs. Hopefully tonight we deploy a game plan and tactical subs that minimize the heats draining effects on the players.

Would be nice to see if Ouahim is still alive.

89-inch Jaiden Kucharski would strike fear into the hearts of men.

I can see a few changes to the line up this week. We’ve should be able to beat Wellington with some slight rotation

I was yelled at by my family for suggesting leaving the beach to go to match. Whilst trading them in for a new family appeals that seems more expensive than a round of stadium beers. Will be following this on my phone unfortunately.

And yes the league is still very important FFS. Do you the crosstown chumps to actually win sruff ?

Go Sydney. :sunglasses:

The Eastern suburbs version of religious law has a clause dictating that all women wear active wear 24/7.

And solely drive Range Rover Sports.
