We showed way more when Ivanovic came on. He has a directness which Retre doesn’t have.
Honestly though no one was great tonight. Brosque and ALF did a lot of work to pounce on the scant opportunities we had and obviously O’Neill scored an absolute cracker in an otherwise mediocre game. Other than that I’m struggling to think of good games from any players. Rhyan played with a lot of energy but I’m struggling to think of too much he provided.
We weren’t great, but important to still win these kind of games. Mariners are utterly spineless, though. As soon as we got that penalty, they lost their impetus completely.

The Buhagiar injury has really messed with his #1 way of creating something different. Without Trent there, it’s just been a fairly sterile attempt to do the last 2 seasons with slightly the wrong personnel.
Great to win when we were far from our best. Corica did well though because we came out much improved in the second half so Im not getting the criticism of him on here. Similarly its 6 games into the season and people are already wanting Jop (and Siem) gone which is just madness when the season is so fresh and players are still settling in. Id be surprised if Jop has played many games as hot as the last two. When you factor in whats there to add to the squad Im far from worried.
