Is it just me or is “the turnaround is too short” a strange turn of phrase to use to refer to three players that have been out (at least in the case of Amanatidis and Rodwell) basically since the start of the season?
It makes sense for someone who maybe injured themself in the previous game, or the one before, and there simply wasn’t enough days between games for recovery. Rodwell was first mentioned as injured in what…August? September? (so long ago I can’t remember).
The word “turnaround” is doing a lot of heavy lifting in that sentence.
especially as it’s a week between games, which is exactly what is expected. If they’d played on Wednesday, then that would be justified, or a Sunday game followed by a Friday game…
