This is the sort of game that we really need to be winning without too many troubles. Western have been pretty underwhelming this season.

So have the Mariners. Quite frankly, so have we.
We won in Rounds 1, 3 and 5 and lost in Rounds 2, 4 and 6. We’re due a win in Round 7!
Well that’s odd
With the bye and Asia, it sort of feels like it’s been a bit of a disjointed start to the season? Heaps of travel for the team, plus a bit of rotation coming into it now. Hopefully they can get into a groove over the second half of December and January.
Anything short of a win here, and I am going to be concerned for the season. A comfortable win and I can head into the christmas period, ready for the inevitable drunken misery to come
I’ll just be happy if we end the game without a red card.
One can dream, right?
I am ready to be hurt again.

If we can somehow navigate the treacherous waters of keeping eleven men on the field and not bother with failed sweeper keeper experiments, to do something about our glaring deficiencies on the counter attack, we just might pull this off.
It will be Sydney FC’s sternest test of the season so far.
Reminder that in January we play on the: 4th, 8th, 11th, 15th, 18th. 5 games in 15 days, then away to Victory on the 24th.
Need to win these sorts of games where we have no excuses because we will really struggle through the above run, by mid-season we could be way off the pace.
But then again glass half full, if by the end of January we can be mid-table we can probably put a better run of form into the end of the season and time a finals run right.
Must win. No excuses, nothing else is acceptable. We’re falling too far behind.
the difference is though that everyone will be playing those games, so the tiredness should be fairly evenly distributed by our opponents
Unfortunately incorrect, our fixture list is much worse than others, from what I understand because of being in Asia and needing to leave space later. Whereas other teams might need to play a midweek game here and there we have to cram fixtures in while there is no ACL2 being played.
Picking a random team for example - Wanderers play 5 games in 27 days in January. Victory, 5 games in 25 days in January. Melbourne City - 5 games in the entirety of January. And so on.
Similarly CCM have a tough fixture list - 5 games in the entirety of January, but they also play on 31 December and on Feb 1st.
Good news is though our run of 5 in 15 includes 3 at home and 1 away in Newcastle. The last of the run is Wellington away though.
A great opportunity to go on a bit of run of wins in January. It will propel us right up the table. Yes this is the new improved positive me
That’s what I’m hoping for. But we will probably need to rotate a lot. A good opportunity for our youth to get a run at the absolute least.
Looks like I’ll be attending this one. Sounds like I’ll be in Cove Heights this time. Looking forward to seeing some goals.
On paper it seems like an easy win but WU kept a clean sheet last time, and if Ibusuki is available for them, he’s always good value for a goal against us.
I believe with a decent rest and training time this week, it shall be a significant show of dominance from us this time.
As long as Redders doesn’t run outside of the box in a counter too often.
So, who is going to get sent off this time?
Sena for dissent after WU’s hatchet men go completely unpunished for kicking the shit out of him all game.
