Sam Kerr: Racial Abuse or 'Tilly Sausage?

the only thing missing is the police have no record of her “911 call”… probably because its 999 in England

Im 99% sure if you call 911 or 000 then it will default to the police anyway. I think 911 does that in Australia

112 (European emergency number) goes through to 999 but, i wasn’t aware that 911 does - although it is more than possible

112 is the international emergency number and pretty sure it’s used in all countries. Mistaken on the 000 in the UK, but dialling 911 in the UK will get you through to the police

I thought it was 0118 999 881 999 119 725 3 over there.

Yessir. They are all crimes. Just like racially aggravated harrassment can be a crime.vthey all cause harm to someone or something.

Some of them you will be convicted of even for the attempt.

Are you arguing that Kerr attempted to be racist and failed?

it’s not about attempting and failing or attempting and succeeding. It’s about attempting

Do the London taxis have cameras?

It would be interesting to see the footage from inside the cab.

You argued that you have to cause harm for something to be called a crime, I’m demonstrating that you are completely wrong.

Or are you forgetting your own arguments.

Attempting to punch someone does not harm them, but it is a crime.

That’s an interesting comparison actually. If someone swung at another person but missed would they actually get charged? Very unlikely. Swing at a cop and miss and you’re probably getting charged.

Yes, people get charged for it regularly, it’s much rarer than actual assault because people don’t report it because either they don’t know its a crime, or they think it’s stupid to dob someone in for it. But if you have witnesses and you report it to the cops, or they witnessed it, they can and will charge people for it, its far more likely to get forgotten in a chaotic situation though.

Depends on who’s being attacked. The police will always apprehend and can decide if they want to press charges, but my understanding is, they may not press charges if the victim decides not to press charges, especially for minor offences. I’m pretty sure for all minor offences, it’s up to the discretion of the police on whether a charge should be layed, an arrest made, or a simple warning.

Which comes back to my point, as well as the argument here… the Met is choosing to go ahead with the case here, when similar degress of casual racist language against officers of colour are alleged to happen in police stations every day. No doubt an equal amount of evidence would exist. Yet instead officers must complete “self reflection”. Why isn’t Kerr being given that grace?

Can I suggest that there actually may have been, but in a lot of those cases, people have been charged with greater crimes? People in the Tommy Robinson persuasion, I guarantee would have had a go at a foreign police officer, but that would be the least of their crimes and would end up with a slap on the wrist compared to the other shit they get up to.

Plus, we’re hearing all about this one because Kerr is famous. While im not going to go out of my way to do the research, before making accusations like that, you’d have to compare the ratio of charges to accusations for both sets of circumstances.

I like Terry Pratchet on satire in this.

I’d argue that Kerr is punching up here. Calling the cop white is meh. The stupid bit is just a fucking stupid thing to say.

If Paulska’s timeline is what happened, then the sensible thing for Kerr to do would be to shut up and let a lawyer sort it out. And pay the cleaning bill and the off road charge for the cab.

I also say that as a white man, not a brown woman.

But I think there’s a lot to be said about someone’s character about throwing up in a cab and not being responsible for it.

He offers them two options: pay the fare, the cleaning fee and money for the window damage, which totalled just under $2,000; or be arrested, charged with criminal damage, and state their case in court.

“I’ll take option two,” Kerr says, who a few moments earlier had said: “I’m not paying [for] some dodgy c—'s window. I will sit here until four in the morning and get the Chelsea lawyers on this. I am not backing down.”
Kerr said: “This is a racial fucking thing. You are believing that guy out the front over £50. Listen to the fucking recording, this stupid cunt wouldn’t let us go.”

She also accused the police of believing the taxi driver over “two women” and made multiple references to Sarah Everard, who was kidnapped, raped and murdered by a Metropolitan police officer.

Kerr told Lovell to “put your shoes in a female’s shoes. We were trapped for 20 minutes in this guy’s car”.

She went on: “You have to understand the emergency that both of us felt. Look at what happened last time when a woman accepted a police officer’s help in Clapham and got raped and killed.”

Kerr also said she would “get the Chelsea fucking lawyers on this”. Mewis claimed the pair had told the taxi driver that they would pay him if he stopped, but he kept driving.

After Lovell reiterated that they had no record of the pair calling 999, Kerr said: “You guys are stupid and white, you guys are fucking stupid and white.” Kerr then looked up at Lovell and said: “I’m looking you in the eyes, I’m looking you in the eyes, you guys are fucking stupid.”
Bit of context as to why race comes into it. She appears to be complaining that she’s not being believed because of her race, and it’s after this point she brings up the officer’s race.

This is a bit silly. I smoked a joint when I got home this afternoon. I will argue until the end of time that no one was harmed in the crime.

I did suggest shutting up was the smart thing.
