There’s really no threat of this one selling out, much like you and I a lot of people will buy today/tomorrow/Friday before heading out.
@SydGooner should be in the bottom right hand corner of the ticket. You basically need to buy one to know what the PAX is at that time.
Lolley looks to be in full training based on the Caceres interview (looking in the background). But can’t see Mak - doubt he will play this first leg at all which would be disappointing
There’s no reason to think Mak won’t be there. The club has posted his stats on Instagram with the caption “See him on Friday”.
What about Sunday 5pm ko?
The pitch after a union match would be a disgrace.
One of Del Piero’s games for us was played after the Roosters and the Rah Rah’s had played on it in the two games previously. I think it was the demolition job against Wellington? One of the games had been played in the rain. So the pitch was just a torn up quagmire. Both goal ends were just mud baths.
This was also back in the day when they used to paint the on-field advertisements onto the turf and the only way to get them off was to soak the area in water and then scrub the section of the pitch. So they had done that to cover up the logos and advertisements for the Chooks before the Rah Rah’s and again before the Sydney game to get rid of the Rah Rahs logos. They hadn’t bothered to do a great job on the actual field markings on the field either. So you had league, union and football paint lines criss crossing all over the field, combined with just patches of grass that were virtually non-existent. Both sets of players walked off looking like they’d been mud wrestling. I don’t think Del Piero was impressed.
The new turf seems to hold up somewhat better as I think it’s a hybrid turf that has synthetic fibers woven into the dirt. Doesn’t look as bad the next day following an egg ball code game. Having said that, the more games played, and the more concerts held on the turf the quicker the quality of the field is going to deteriorate. There was a game earlier this season where the pitch following both Roosters and Rah Rah’s was looking rather tired and worn.
There was also a massive downpour before the start of the game, to the point they were considering calling it off. Luckily, the game went ahead. ADP was mighty in that game.
Scored 4 from memory. There used to be highlights of that game on YT.
You’re thinking of a different game to me, then. The 4-1 win towards the end of the season was particularly notable. The goalmouths were mudbowls. In fact, it was so muddy that it saved us at one point when the ball was going in, but spun its way back into the goalmouth.
Kinda miss those matches.
Something about playing on a muddy field which just makes it so much more interesting.
Pretty sure I played a game at Ewan Park against Hurlstone Park on a pitch like that once.
It was football, combined with water polo and synchronized swimming.
