Diego Costa has asked for a release from Atletico Madrid. Obviously because we’ve agreed terms but cant afford the transfer fee.

If it’s a player then I’m with RedKat on this one, it has to be Diego Costa. That or the club is finally rectifying the Janko situation.
If it isn’t player related then they’re probably announcing the official cup holder supplier to the new stadium or the official SFC burger, Portuguese chicken w beetroot.

95% chance it is Bobo. Steve C has mentioned numerous times through the media we are short on salary cap space and it won’t be a marquee. I know he is a few years older etc. But given he has previously mentioned that he likes Australia, he is probably coming in on the cheap. If it doesn’t work out perfectly not a huge financial risk, plus we get to see more of the younger players like Trent, Wood and Ivanovic get more minutes.
I still think Bobo can do a job off the bench, coming on with 20 minutes to go. If he is better than expected then he gives us another starting option, keeps the players motivated for the season ahead.

Whisper is that Bobo has been quarantining in Adelaide. Perhaps the club wanted to announce his return before our first game.

One nice thing about this (rumoured) signing…
Our Plan B under this system (moreso under Arnold I think) was to take off one of Brillante/O’Neill and throw on Simon/Lokolingoy into an awkwawrd, unbalanced and overtly desperate:
Brosque Bobô Simon
Ninko Adrian
Brillante
Now, with both starting forwards being comfortable as wingers/widee-forwards and an outright #9 off the bench, a similar Plan B (Retre for Bobô) looks far more sensible and balanced:
Bobô
Buhagiar Kosta
Ninko/ABJ Caceres
Brattan
If we had someone who could lead the line as lone-striker in reserve (I don’t know that Trent, Ivanović or Swibel are really that player) it could even be a feasible starting XI going into the season. Probably get more out of Kosta that way at least.

I agree, it feels like they’re making a bit too much of a big deal if it is Bobo (who with all due respect is a little underwhelming). It’s also pretty standard a-league though to pump something minor - today is an example.
Didnt we also massively talk up Kisels return?
