Can someone explain to me why we have insisted on Warland all these ‘seem like years’? When was the last time he played (edit:STARTED) a game, let alone a 1st team game? Is his potential that amazing or just has an amazing contract? 2 years a go sub appearances maybe up to less than a third of the season. Someone tell me why, not just on the notion that we all seem to brush him off as the next great youth player. He is 24.
He last started an ill-fated game vs City around 18 months ago, and came off in the first half with an ACL injury, which explains the lack of game time since.
As said above, the massive injury has a lot to do with it.
At the end of the day a left footed CB is very valuable and if he can get even close to Jurman at his peak in that slot, he’ll be a great investment.
Warland when fit was decent and I’m guessing he isn’t on much coin.
With the cap drop rumoured to 2.1mil, how much of that will be absorbed by players being eligible for greater loyalty exemptions?
Im pretty sure he started about a dozen games in a row before doing his ACL ,and with McGowan likely not to return he may well be alongside Wilko I would imagine. Not too often Centrebacks get rotated during games. Did Mcgowan and Wilko even come off this last season. Maybe he just has to bide his time?
really?
So i guess everyone seems to think he has the quality and potential once fit, hoping he stays fit, to be a solid player worth holding on to.
The vast majority of clubs across the league are working with their players effectively to reach fair and reasonable solutions," PFA co-chief executive Beau Busch said. “Encouragingly, players and clubs have made significant progress. We understand that Sydney FC met with their players again this morning to discuss their club’s specific situation. It’s been pleasing to see that, throughout the process, Sydney FC has worked in good faith with their players in a respectful manner.”

Confirming earlier whispers, told there is definitely interest in Kosta Barbarouses from the Indian Super League. Jamshedpur FC have the budget and are looking out for an Asian winger so they could be the club. A move is unlikely, at this stage.
Fine. As long as they pay us up big time
If we got a fee for Kosta at this point I’d take it but I wouldn’t let him go on a free.
Is Kosta an “Asian” winger?
Not unless he has taken out Australian citizenship since our original ACL squad was announced.
My thoughts exactly, Oceanian for sure lol
“A move is unlikely at this stage”
So its bullshit?
simliarly “Sydney coach Steve corica has said he believes his side could benefit from signing virgil van dijk. The Dutch defender has said that he has heard Sydney is a nice city. A move is unlikely at this stage”
If they’re willing to pay a decent fee, I’d let Kosta go if he wants. Time to start making some transfer money for the club (and league in general).
Hey, this looks like a good offseason game to play.
“Sydney coach Steve Corica has said he believes his side could benefit from signing Harry Kane. According to sources close to the England forward, Harry has heard great things about the quality of coffee in Sydney . A move is unlikely at this stage.”
"Sydney coach Steve Corica has said he believes his side could benefit from signing Ronaldo. According to sources close to the Portuguese International Cristiano has heard great things about the Portuguese Chicken at Frangos. A move is unlikely at this stage.”
