I was very glad to find out Caceres just had the shits over the weekend. Definitely put 2 and 2 together and got 5 when we announced the new signing and then no Caceres in the gameday squad days later.
I had 100% convinced myself that an FC Seoul move announcement was coming in a member’s email the day after the game.
At the moment, best attacking duo seems to be Elvis + Alf (still working his way into it) with Bobo and Trent very useful - in quite different ways - at 60 minutes.
Caceres is having his best ever season for us - and I have never been a fan - but, if he went overseas, I would be just as happy with Burgess as he grows into the Sydney FC game. More dynamic across the park, tougher and more incisive in attack. So for AMs we have Ninko who is in great form (particularly on cooler days), Caceres, Burgess, Luciano and Kosta (if he comes back)
O’Toole seems a stronger defender than King but his crossing is a bit wonky. Needs Zullo back.
Just thinking, if Wilkinson does retire come seasons end, we could do worse than pick up Winston Reid. I just noticed he’s actually a free agent at the moment. He’s 33, so surely has a couple seasons left in his legs. Has been a pretty solid defender in the Premier League with West Ham and the New Zealand national team.
I’m surprised Wellington haven’t tried to pick him up. I suspect they may have had they been based in NZ this season. Although I dare say they can’t afford anything more than bread and butter sandwiches for their players currently, so not sure if they would be able to afford him.

As an older bloke, I am glad that when I went through the ups and downs of adolescence, there was no internet and we spent a lot of time just kicking a ball in the park. Taking a breather, we could do our squad speculation by sitting down in the shade and debating whether Johnny Warren would ever make it back from injury and whether that meant Rasic would drop Jimmy Rooney; or how to fit the wonderful Harry Williams into the starting line up when Bunny Curran was just magic.

Anyone know what the deal with Liam McGing and Anton Mlinaric are?
I think it was reported that Mlinaric’s loan to Brisbane went until January, and McGing was announced back in November as a “short term contract” with us. It seemed to be cover for Donachie’s injury, but he’s stayed around a long time since.
