Where the planned subs are:
ALF → Bobo
Kamsoba → Kosta (until Kosta shows he’s a better option than Elvis
Ninko or Cacers → Narsingh (depending on who needs what. For example, could be straight swaps or Ninko could come off, Burgess goes to LAM, Caceres goes to CM Narsingh goes to RAM, etc)
As discussed in the match thread maybe it does signal a move to a 4-3-3.
I think there’s a perception that Corica is too inflexible to do it. I don’t know if i believe that. He seems tactically flexible within the formation that we play, swapping player and rotations for effect.
I just think we haven’t had the players to do a 4-3-3 properly. Until now…?
Yeah, I agree. Almost all managers during the middle of a season are inflexible with changing formations. I wouldn’t be surprise thought if we see a change in the next preseason though.
Based on that performance - definitely a number of players who should not be re-signed for next season and some that have been re-signed we should be looking to release or sell on. Bring on 22-23 season and a rebuild.
Questions need to start being asked about the training, why cannot they sort nieuwenhofs injury after this long, why is Yazbek injured, why is Zullos calf so bad, why was Kosta injured while coming back from injury, where the hell is wood.
How are we keeping old Wilko, Bobo, Milos fit but cannot get and keep kids fit.
Also do we even practice scoring chances or even shooting anymore, all our players have regressed in that area.
Last night we came to the conclusion that we just play small sided games between the sideline and the penalty box and that no one has a shooting license to do shooting practice because they cant practice shooting in order to get a shooting license.
Noticed that Gersbach was dropped to the bench again this weekend. The week before he started after two weeks on the bench, and got hooked at half time.
If this is how things are going at a club facing relegation from Ligue 2 I think it’s time to call an end to the European adventure for now.
I would receive the return of our Leftbach back to the squad with open and welcoming arms. Michael Zullo was always a adequate replacement for him when he departed, until he became temporarily unavailable in reoccurring 1 week increments. Joel King stepped up and became the new Kingbach, and now he too has departed for foreign shores.
Hopefully King kicks on and does better in Europe than poor old Alex has. Perhaps it is time he returned home to us, where we can turn him into a Socceroos contender once more - if he has desires of representing us nationally again.
Although if he’s content doing a yearly contiki tour around Europe, and doesn’t mind becoming a journeyman than all the best to him. If he’s enjoying playing in Europe and wants to keep fighting for a more permanent spot at a European club, than all for him doing so, and we shouldn’t force him to come home. Too many Aussies come home too soon, and whilst yes he’s been away from Australia for 6 years I wouldn’t want him to give up on his Euro ideals so soon. He’s only 24, and he did leave us pretty young. I suspect he may fit in better in a Championship/SPL side however.
