Cheers, much appreciated.

My time isnā€™t greatā€¦ over 12 hours is all Iā€™ll say

Thanks all, hereā€™s the photo montage from the Bondi To Manly Ultra.

Hope this inspires some of you do do the walk, or even the ultra itself:

Well done, thatā€™s so epic!

I did 13.5km this morning, my longest ever run - could not imagine 80 (21 feels manageable, just)! Definitely type 2 fun.

Well done. If you can run 13.5km, you can do a half marathon. If you can do a half marathon, a little bit of structured training (over 10-12 weeks) will see you finish a marathon.

Ironically, ultras are in many ways easier than a marathon. You typically jog at easy zone 2 pace along the flats and downhill sections, and fast-hike the uphills. You eat, drink and sit down or stretch at aid stations (usually every 20km), stop to take photos along the way, make some friends by chatting up strangers who are sharing the experience.

As long as you keep moving, youā€™ll get to the finish line. Itā€™s much more fun than a marathon where you keep running for 42km and if you try to talk to anybody theyā€™ll ignore you or you get a one word answer and body language that says ā€˜donā€™t talk to me dude, Iā€™m trying to break my PRā€™.

That was my experience at doing the JP Morgan mid week - mostly a bunch of assholes. And that was a 5.6km fun run :joy:

I think Iā€™d rather just run with mates and have a good time than set PRs. See how far I can run, then run further the next time. Which is working well for me, and the enjoyment whilst running (apart from the nip chafe).

Have done one marathon, and despite the insistence of the old fella cruising next to me that once Iā€™d done one Iā€™d do many more, I never wanted to. Going longer distance seems nice for the exact reason its impossible, all that time without having to deal with my kids

Yeah me too, I did the Sydney Marathon once and never did another one.

I normally enter half marathons or 20-30km trail events. The fact Iā€™ve done three ultras but only one marathon speaks volumes. I just donā€™t enjoy marathons.

However if Sydney Marathon becomes a World Major event, I will do one more marathon just for the finisherā€™s medal .

Well I for one am SHOCKED at these allegations!

Just finished reading that and was about to come here to post it.

Are Merivale big enough to scare their current employees into silence?

Should be a fun few months coming into silly season, camera phones at the ready people!

That looks perfectly normal for a hospitality venue
