Suggestion to ban X Links

Hey all,

Any thoughts on banning the posting of links to X? Would be good not to support the crazy fascist. I’ve seen most of Reddit has now done something similar.

I’d support this, as the only time I really visit the hellsite these days is from links posted here.

I support this idea. We’ll just have to make sure we post anything, especially club content, from other sources.

I support this. Does that ban include screen shots as well?

I don’t think screenshots matter so much as you’re not giving any traffic to the website.

I basically don’t click links to the bad place anymore so this banning would be fine by me.

I was thinking the same thing this morning, but there’s still some football content that’s only on that platform, I’ll have a think about it,

I wonder if theres a plugin that can take a screenshot of the tweet and post it, infact I wonder if I could write one

Edit: Yeah nah, If I want to access twitter using a API I gotta pay for it. :joy: :joy: :joy:

Maybe we could have some automated styling to embed it under a bold heading-size banner stating “From Some leeching, rich, fascist drug addict’s soapbox:”

And if it comes from a blue tick, show it under:
“Some cunt paid to post this:”

What’s X?

I think football and SFCU could live without that content.

I’ve never had Twitter but occasionally click on the transfer rumour links.

I don’t think a complete ban is warranted as I’d like to see the Fabrizio Romano or that A League guy from the summer’s posts.

Pretty sure we could bin the links in the political threads though. Maybe a football content only rule?

if we’re banning then I’d say it should be banned completely. Making exceptions is making excuses. I’d think the push should be shifting football writers away from X and the fascist more than anything else

The flip side to that is that there are so few football writers in this country that their content should be promoted despite the platform.

Not sure if I’m remembering correctly but wasn’t there a News Ltd ban previously?
I know Jesse Fink articles were banned.

There’s a lot of rubbish on Reddit so should those links be banned as well?

Reddit’s not owned by a Nazi and used to promote fascist cuntishness though

Lynch, Vince, Hill, Gatt et al. are active on BlueSky too. Better off driving engagement that way and encouraging them to operate off the nazi platform.

Do you know of an aliga list on there?

You could start with the feed that somebody put together:

And then follow people from there over time.

Already found it but thanks! Forgot how easy bluesky makes it

Speaking for myself only and as I’ve pointed out previously I despise both sides of the poilitical divide because quite frankly they are both shouty self righteous narcisstic fuckwits who clamp their fingers in their ears and shout lalalalalalalala and go straight to censorship of anything. I don’t agree with any form of censorship whatsoever and there is a very good reason I’m not a product of the social media algorithm at all.

Therefore if it were a vote I would vote No, a million times No to banning any form of dissenting opinion regardless of how fucking idiotic it is.

Again, my opinion only. I’m merely a humble user of this great forum.

Im not proposing a ban based on dissenting opinion though, i’m proposing a ban because the owner is a c*nt of the highest regard. Being a Nazi isn’t dissenting opinion, it’s supporting genocide and a whole load of other crap.

It’s also been fairly well shown that a tolerant society that allows intolerance to flourish, with also end with tolerance being destroyed and replaced with intolerance.
