Kennedy absolutely killed it. If anything, we should have had another couple of goals.
Silver lining in the rest of the season being cancelled?
There are few things that boil my piss as much on a football field as when a midfielder receives the ball under no pressure, time and space, but then lays the ball backwards to a defender who’s immediately pressed and put under infinitely more pressure by an opposition attacker. Happened repeatedly in that second half.
It shows a complete lack of awareness of what’s around you (have a look as you show for the ball farken), and worse, shows a complete lack of communication as the teammate nearest you cbf shouting “time” or “turn” to let you know. I genuinely don’t know how people make it to this level without communicating, it requires no skill or natural ability, just a set of eyes and the most basic understanding of the game.
Especially in this generation where it’s all about rest defence and transition, one poor decision or lack of talk deprives you of the chance to run at them and stretch them, instead leading to numerous shit turnovers in really dangerous areas of the pitch. The decision making all over the park was disgraceful. The few times our defenders did launch it there was fuck all movement further up the pitch.
But yeah, good win girls.

If we can somehow lift the title today, this would have to be the best W-League trophy triumph. City have an insane amount of talent in their team. I’m just going to assume that the W-League doesn’t have a salary cap because it doesn’t seem possible for them to assemble such a team in normal circumstances.
