Sydney fc 2019—2020: back to back

Bugger. Good effort though

Disappointing

I’m not sure we deserved to lose that. Terrible decision on the non-penalty but we also had a few good chances in the second half and couldn’t put one away. Either way, I think the women’s team can be satisfied how well they competed against such a loaded City team. On another day, we bury one or two of those chances and maybe we come home with the trophy.

Terri Polias is such a wonderful player. Absolutely the star in our team how she does so much good work, sees things so quickly and can adjust her runs and passing to change the game. Commentators never mention her. Why? … also does great after game speeches.

Great effort, just missing a bit of luck and just falling short in a few places. Harsh on Bledsoe given how good she’s been over the last 2 years.
Getting to the GF and going neck for neck with this city team is really something considering they lost two of the better players in the competition midway through.

Sky Blue Stories W-League Special

Jimmy was suspended for a week due to last week’s studs up challenge on Filip Holosko - so this week Sean and I(Jono) rambled for about half an hour, including a Top 5 Sydney FC W-League Players of all-time!

Which led nicely into the main event, an extended chat with Sky Blue Superwoman and future Hall of Famer Teresa Polias.

Plug in, sit back and enjoy the effervescent sky blue aura that radiates from this interview on Sky Blue Stories

On tomorrow’s pod we had former centre half and now Co Chief of the PFA Beau Busch on. Time was limited, so couldnt get a huge amount of detail out of him but was great to chat to a former player who has gone on to be in a key role within the game

Excellent!!

Great to see ten players re-signing and six new players coming in for next season. Despite the general doom and gloom and financial speculation about the W-League teams and the competition itself, good to see Sydney locking players down and preparing for the future.

No Kennedy is worrying, bang on for City imo

Sad to have seen Alanna Kennedy leave though and Huerta too but obviously that wasn’t much of an option

Wouldn’t Kennedy be joining the European exodus?

I’d be surprised if she went to Melbourne in these days. My guess is she’ll hang out for a European job and fall back to here otherwise.

Looks like Kennedy is going to Tottenham.

sauce?

Official now. She has also been announced as a macarthur fc “community ambassador” whatever that means.

she’s the head cow?

She’s a modern Elizabeth MacArthur who was the real power behind the success even if she did succeed on the back of her husband’s corruption and military junta?
