Sydney United are in full pre-season mode and playing trial games so I wonder just how focused on the Women’s side he is.
He coached Olympic last year, so no real change.
The real difference is even more kids this year, same as the NPL side. He managed to paper over the cracks the last few years but it’s desperately needed now.
We’re definitely missing a Remy Siemsen / Hayley Maddison / Courtney Vine type goal poacher.
Shae Connors just isn’t cutting it, and Farrow today didn’t seem like she is the answer.
Princess is Princess, but she’s not exactly banging them in week after week either. Whether we ever see Kyah Simon on the pitch is anyone’s guess.
At the other end of the park, just like the men’s team we have question marks over our first choice keeper, with Edwards yet to show some of the quality she seemed to display with Nix, and Franco is not convincing either. Jada was a huge loss for us.
But it isn’t just goals scored/conceded. We really don’t look like a team of quality players in the middle. Too many shit passes, and it seems like the receiver is either never quite ready or didn’t expect the pass to come to them, despite being in open space and clear line of sight to the ball. Like, if it wasn’t coming to you, where did you think it was going?
It’s not an officiating issue or red cards or anything else we can blame it on. We just look rubbish and nothing like our former selves.

It’s pretty rare we have a bad season in the ALW. I guess this is going to be one of them.
Never missed finals before, right? Top 4 or top 6 recently, been there every single year. So this would be the first bad season.

Only just turned it on at half time, but Shae Connors continues to underwhelm.
Skins her defender, heavy touch but wins it back inside the box, then turns 180 degrees to pass back to another team mate. Shoot farken!

She has no instinct for the game whatsoever. She’s like your athletic friend who’s never played football but agrees to fill in when you’re a few players down.
