Sydney FC A-League Womens Match Day Thread 22/23

Huge win. Really impressed by Lowe again, and by Whyman. Her saves aren’t given enough plaudits - especially at such key points in the game. Special group of players.

Seven points ahead of second after eight rounds, we’ll need more room in the trophy cabinet this year.

Just need the lads to step up and we can win that club championship thingy

Last time A-Leagues Facebook posted the ladder it was this

That save around the 60th minute was world class.

The midfield depth in this squad is scary.

I’d laugh so much if the men finish bottom half of the table and we win the CC because of the women. I mean, after crying that the men finished in the bottom half.

1 goal conceded in 8 games. Tremendous work.

Women going around again tonight (735pm) at Leichhardt v Brisbane. Should extend the lead over Mel C back out to 8 points.

The Mel C womens team should really be called the Spice girls

Professional performance from the women. Could have been more than 2-0. Silverware incoming

Immense stuff. What a superb season.

And some of us were a bit worried where the goals might come from without Siemsen and Vine

So refreshing watching a team click like this (even on a relatively off night) after the weird disjointed stuff that the Matildas were putting out last week.
Ante has done a phenomenal job.

Incredible that they haven’t missed a beat with Remy and vine missing, you’d think they’d both come straight back in. I don’t think you can drop rojas so I assume satchell and ibini make way, you’ve also got Taylor Ray who imo is the best midfielder in the squad so I’d probably swap her for Sarah Hunter (which is very harsh on her as she’s been good)

You’re assuming Remy and Cortnee aren’t off to trial in Europe already… Agree re Satchell and Ibini, although I don’t share the general view that Ibini hasn’t been at her best, she’s been playing the role that the team needed - a physical forward to hold up play.

Remy and cortnee vine back in for satchell and Rojas, Taylor Ray comes in for Sarah Hunter

4-0 win for us.

Six minutes and still no goal? How long until we hit the panic button?
