Yep, that will work fine.
Yep, that will work fine.
I updated to the Windows 11 Beta the other day. So far it’s super impressive, it feels really snappy and the UI is really nice. No bugs so far and everything seems to work fine.
Yeah, I’m pretty impressed. I’ve been using it since the developer release. I had it running in a spare laptop but it was so stable and I loved it so much that I installed it on my main laptop.
Is the Windows alternate version curse broken?
It definitely feels like it’s a big UI overhaul of windows 10,
cleaned up the pretty disjointed settings menus from 10 too.
They’ve also effectively locked out older hardware from the update for security reasons. You need a CPU with TPM 2.0. I think if you’re Intel 8th gen or Ryzen 2nd gen onwards you just need to turn something on in the BIOS. Apparently there are some work around and/or waivers for older hardware, but all the machines in my place are good to go so I haven’t need to mess around with anything like that.
I turned on my PC this morning and there was some notification I didn’t recognise, like a fool I didn’t read it carefully and now I have logged on as normal, it looks like the whole computer has gone to some default mode? And all of my files are nowhere to be seen.
From googling around it might be that my windows account has some problem, but I don’t know how, why, what might be going or, or how to regain access to all my stuff.
Is there any way for me to fix my account and be able to access all the documents and files on my computer?
Go into your C Drive then Users, is there another profile folder underneath there. If yes the quickest way is going to be copying that folder structure over to your new folder.
I found a guy who had a youtube video that described a fix that sounded similar to your above one. Thankfully it worked and the crisis has passed.
Another question for all the smart folks out there, what is better NBN or 5G internet?
Depends on the NBN tech and the 5G signal strength.
Also depends on vaccination status and if you want Covid
So i’ve got 50mb/s internet, however whenever i’m downloading games, we have an issue that the maximum download speed is 6mb/s and it throttles the internet for the whole house. So essentially i’m downloading a game and we can’t really watch a movie at the same time. Would that be a router issue?
That’s actually the correct speed, it’s just how ISP’s market their plans.
1 byte = 8 bits.
6 megabytes = 48 megabits.
It’s dumb, and borderline dishonest, but legal and technically correct.
ahhhh ok! Appreciate that! So essentially I should probably limit the download speed for games in that case
Do we have any Photoshop users here? I’m relatively new to it and I have an issue where my cursor is clicking in the wrong place. I have it set so the cursor icon is always the crosshair and I can set a 1 pixel grid, have the centre of the crosshair in one box, click, and the pixel to the right will be coloured. It’s driving me nuts. Anyone know how to fix it?
I am but I don’t really understand what you’re trying to do?
I’m using the pencil tool for pixel art, so I have a one-pixel grid and I’m zoomed in relatively close. My cursor in the position below produces the red pixel.
The only thing I could think it might be is an expression setting like pressure, but I’m not sure if that’s a thing with the pencil tool.
If it’s something that’s only just started happening then try resetting your preferences. Also check if caps lock is on
Thanks for the reply! It’s actually the first time I’ve installed it on this computer so something might be a bit off.
Resetting the preferences worked and I think may have revealed where the issue is because it re-broke something else. Originally the 1x1 grid wasn’t actually 1x1 pixels. It was a little bit smaller for some reason. The only way I could fix that was in the Units & Ruler settings by changing the Ruler Type from Points to Pixels. That fixes the grid but seems to break the cursor’s precision. Looks like I’ll just have to pick which one bugs me more.
Everything worked fine on my other computer…
