We were in Palermo with my family in 82 visiting cousins there. The front door of their small terrace was open & kids & people were going in & out all day long however when the game started there were 20 people crammed into that tiny room. Us kids were lying on the floor face down with crick necks looking up the small TV & after he scored the three goals & after the game one of my strongest memories is my grandfather crying because the the Italian President Sandro Pertini was crying with happiness because my grandfatherâs brother like Sandro Pertini was a partisan during the war.
Also the musician Harold Budd, due to Covid, but at least he had a decent innings.

If you want to watch rather than read get hold of the BBC mini series starring Alec Guiness.
Geez this year is overwhelming this thread.
RIP Gerard. He gave us some great memories, and like Paulska above, it coincided for me with getting Foxtel and so being able to watch every game, and being young enough that watching regular midnight and 2 am football didnt kill me.
