The English Football Thread

We will find out soon enough. He’s the only person or group bidding that I know of so far that I’d find acceptable.

You don’t become a billionaire by being a good person, they’re all shit cunts.

Horseshit

True but there are still degrees of awfulness. Adding the sports washing of a dodgy regime element, built on the products which will destroy the world, just takes it to another level.

I’m gonna go easy on Redders after seeing Nick Pope’s effort last night.

Let it sink in that Pope is probably on $100k+ a week as well :expressionless:

Didn’t realise that EPL suspension for Pope will be enforced during the Carabao Cup Final, making it a million times worse.

Amazingly, Loris Karius is in line to start against Man U, would be his first game in about 2 years since a loan spell at Union Berlin.

These days, I’m pretty sure a suspension in England applies to all competitions. It’s a bit rough on Pope, but it is what it is.

I know Karius has a bit of history with his bottle job in the CL final but surely he’s a third keeper option that most clubs would be jealous to have.

Yeah hoping for some redemption for the lad.

Don’t know that it was ever proved definitively, but the theory is that he was concussed by that piece of shit Ramos in that game.

The UK has implemented a new indipendant football regulator to oversee all football in the country

By the rules, the regulator will:

  • block clubs from joining elite leagues
  • ensure consultation on any major changes to clubs with fans
  • distribute licenses for clubs, ensuring they are viable, have business plans and won’t go bust
  • ensure directors and owners are tested prior to entering into club purchases

Amongst other things

RIP John Motson

Genuinely tragic

The voice of footy growing up for me and my brothers

RIP John Motson. Also the voice of the greatest FIFA edition of all time (Road to the World Cup '98).

Now there’s a freak result.

Good they finally went on with one, could’ve been a similar score last year but 100% took the foot off the gas after Pogba got sent off.

I wish it were a freak result. Liverpool have done this flogging thing to United a little too regularly for my liking in recent years (and I’m sure not regularly enough for others)!

Ventured out to Dulwich Hamlet for the first time in a couple months.

Nothing better than a 90th minute winner in non-league football. Absolute scenes.

BBC is getting absolutely slaughtered.

I’d be more interested to see if the Tories are getting slaughtered just as much for pressuring the BBC into this situation.
