The Ligue 1 Thread

Henry with a horrid start to his managerial debut. Monaco in a lot of trouble.

Not as horrid as his GK’s attempt on the first goal.
I think it was a silly job for him to take. The pressure is so high, you’re expected to be successful despite your best players being constantly sold every summer and replaced with academy players or players with a potential resale value. Southampton have shown that there is a bottom to the well and when you find it it’s hard to find a way out. All this and you’re expected to compete with PSG, Marseille and Lyon for the CL places. No home crowd and a shit ground also makes it hard to generate any home push. Taking over mid-season in a relegation fight is only setting yourself up for failure. If he gets them out of the mess then it was to be expected. It’s a no win situation, more a lose/par for the course scenario.
He would have been much better off following the Lampard, Gerrard and now Terry route and gone to a bigger League 2 side where there’s pressure to succeed from the club and media but you are backed with resources and have more time to implement your ideas.

So Monaco have sacked Henry and want to bring Jardim back
