Tell him everyone knows Valencia is an easy course, do a hard one and get a good time :grinning:

He’s doing the Rotterdam one next. Another flat one.

Flat track bully :joy:

What was the diagnosis? Hopefully nothing serious.

Overall good given I was no longer in pain, reckons keep off it for another two weeks or so. Follow up session next week with some exercises to do in the mean time.

A month with no running sucks though.

24 hour record for Oceania has also fallen over the weekend:

I realise this is more of a you guys running thread but it seems the most appropriate pace for it.

Gout Gout ran 10.04 yesterday. Fourth fastest Australian ever and also the fourth fastest U-18 ever.

Lad has that crazy top end speed. Amazing.

Wont count as he reportedly had too strong a tail wind

Just did the 200 in 20.04

2nd fastest ever at u18, quicker than bolt. Would have placed him 6th in Paris too!

Cracked 1,000km for the year for the first time ever.

Wish I was faster but the average 200m elevation per 10km didn’t help.

Aiming for 1,500km next year, in preparation for the Sydney Marathon. Following that I want to drop back down to a casual 15-20km per week but I’ve said that before

Well done!

I haven’t run since my calf injury in November (and subsequent physio exercise injured the higher calf muscle - at the physio’s office no less).

Aiming to get out this afternoon for a short 5km test, so I can start ramping up in January.

Only started mid August. Just need to not make the same mistake of trying to hit 100km/month within 3 months. Also need to keep doing strength exercises!

Nice. 100km/month is a lot, for me anyway.

I believe finding that elusive balance is key. I suspect 15km per week is enough for long term fitness, but when I did that for a year or two it got boring AF and I found myself entering events to spice it up. But once I knock off some goals, it’s where I want to end up again. I mean if I want excitement I’m probably in the wrong sport

Always jealous of people who can run. I feel like I’m on evolutionary branch all of my own and failing 100,000 years of ancestors. Even when I was young, and the few times I have been partially fit, I was unable to run well or comfortably. I really should have learned to fight because fleeing ain’t an option.

I’m similar

I can run in a sporting sense (football etc) but cannot run distances… tried with the wife a while back and it turns out I have a complete inability to actually jog

I was very inconsistent this year. Hoping to crack 1000km next year!

Jesus! Hope they gave you a discount!

Pretty inconsistent for myself with various little injuries and my first bout of covid to finish the year, but the most volume I’ve managed since the pandemic started

Didn’t manage to 45 mins for Rome 10k. Ended up doing it in 46.42 mins, which I’ll take! Good way to finish 2024.
