One of Western Sydney Wanderersâ star imports could miss the start of the new A-League season after Polish playmaker Radoslaw Majewski was injured at training.
In what could be a significant blow to coach Markus Babbelâs plans for the new campaign, Majewski will have scans on his right knee today after colliding with defender Dylan McGowan.
Though the club hope it will prove to be just a temporary setback, Majewski has told teammates he is concerned the injury could be worse than that.
The 32-year-old was signed to bring a level of creativity to the Wanderers attacks that has been missing in recent seasons, and had shown signs of his class in the 7-0 demolition of Sydney United earlier this month.

Sucks for the poor manâs Adrian, but tbh heâs probably the most replaceable link in their XI so it wonât derail them completely. Theyâve got options with different systems and with Meier up top they could even play Duke in behind.

On reflection, our 3 month pre-season is probably a significant factor as to the number of pre-season injuries we have compared to proper leagues. Itâs just a much longer time (i.e. roughly 3x) in which this can happen.
