Campbelltown is 40km from Parramatta.
Hardly their backyard. If they had fans from out that way, too bad.
Parramatta is only about 20km from the SFC heartland.
Campbelltown is double the distance away from Parramatta.

Perth are already just REALLY Western Sydney.
40km between Parra and Scrambletown town sounds like a decent distance⊠Until you factor in football still being a minor code and already dwindling crowds, tv interest etc. In my opinion, the bid should have gone to a new market.
Babbel was on the Fox podcast this week, actually interesting to listen to him despite the club he coaches.

The bit about players going overseas, failing, and promptly returning to the HAL on double or triple their earlier wages neatly summed up the worst thing about this league.

Haha, more so Yeboah as we was actually referring to Europe.
I also liked the part where, earlier in the podcast, Adam Peacock was saying how impressed he was at the Bayern training facilities/academy setup and Babbel said that it wasnât a great situation (having a first class facility for youth) as they got used to it and then when they went out on loan to a good Bundesliga 2. team they were hit with a reality check. In general, he was referring to young players being treated with too much respect and that it gave them the wrong attitude. Later in the podcast Adam talked about the new first-class training and academy facility that WSW have just unveiled and was sheepish in saying it given Babbelâs earlier comments.
I dont know how much Yeboah is on at the Westies, but he was in germany for years and spurned multiple offers to come back Apparently with the Roar.
Injuries/ hitting a wall / Babbel more than likely finding out about a young Aussie kid in Germany did it for him I guess.
Our issue on here and general as Aus footy fans is, I guess a guy like Mitch Nichols or even Vidiosoc, who take a punt to go to a pretty average country in the first place. Then find it the league sucks/ or the club they went to stinks and they wonât get paid and see us as a safety net.
Nabbout did this recently but I feel he worked his arse off to try and get a starting spot in a very solid league and didnât. Cant fault a guy like that wanting to play (plus you just feel like Nabbout gives a shit). Itâs the above mentioned ones we need to starr to ignore and just use youth or NPL guys instead.

The crowd wont be that big today, so anyone getting wet could go to the top parts and keep dry.
