Western Sydney Wanderers Thread- Cosplay Ultras Edition

What happened there?

I think it was mentioned somewhere else that as the rest of the league worked them out tactically last season, Staj refused to budge from the game plan.

It appears there may be two types of coach.
Those that are effective with rep teams and those that can work with clubs.
I suspect that different talents are required.

Been mentioned before but there’s so much wrong in Parramatta, a simple coaching change won’t fix it. The problems are surely occurring at the top of the organisation.

Rhys Williams confirmed to have a ruptured hamstring tendon

How long does that take to get back on the park?Any idea?

Disregard my Qs…I looked at WSW,forum…it looks like the rest of the season.Possibly back near the end,IF,the recovery goes perfectly?

A ruptured tendon means he’s out for the rest of the season, bare minimum. Depending on how badly it’s ruptured, could be longer.

Given it’s Rhys Williams, and the fact he’s made of glass, and he’s had several season ending injuries through his career, I daresay it’s a career ending injury.

He is signed for next season,so I suppose theres a vacancy at left right out that Snake is occupying right now.

Speaking of :snake:, what the he’ll happened to him???

I know he became a shit goalkeeper after leaving us, and then he got injured, but I honestly can’t remember the last time I saw his name anywhere near their team sheet.

Is he still under contract?

This is the last year of his bumper, franchise longest, 4 year contract. He was shit for the first year and then has been injured for the last 3. :clinking_glasses:

Ultimate A-League shows his last ever game as April 2019, 1-1 derby where Brosque scored first and ABJ equalised from a FK.

I’m sure WSW are happy for the insurer to be carrying his contract cost.

I believe I saw him last at Thornleigh McDonald’s.
He appeared to be ordering burgers, didn’t look match fit.

Karma.

He’s got a pretty unique injury if I remember correctly, that was never rectified until he signed for us. There was an article I read ages ago and he basically lost all movement or feeling on his arms or something, and apparently it flared up again.

Feel sorry for him in that regard, and the fact it would be seriously affecting his mental health, but I don’t feel sorry for him for anything else.

For what? Leaving for game time because we had a much better keeper?

Probably more the circumstance, right?

Didn’t he have a bit of a tanty and force the clubs hand?

I’ll admit I wasn’t THAT sorry to see him go, though, so I can’t really be mad at the guy.

He claimed mental illness to force being let go after he was dropped for a handful of games. I remember it was extremely suss at the time and many people were questioning whether he was just using it as an excuse to leave to the Wanderers

Someone chasing game time is fine with me, I have no problem with that. The elaborate pathetic charade that was undertaken to effect a transfer just stunk for everyone all round. Reeks of entitlement or agent advice. Like I said, karma always wins.
